Does anyone know of any other bikes that use the pull shock setup? just can't afford a 1000 for a shock. |

If your going to spend that much money on the twin shock you might as well go with the Penske. For less than $200 more there is way more adjustment. I roadraced with Penskes for 6 years and you get what you pay for but.... yes it is a lot of money. Unfortunately there just isnt many alternatives. I put the Penske on my S1W and love it. You could always send out the stock unit to Race tech and have them rebuild. |

I just bought one off ebay for $200 with the short length front mount. BTW does anyone know the length of the preload adjustment on a X1 with the shorter shock? Both '01,'02 shop manuals show for the longer shock. There are new OEM shocks listed on ebay from $300-$500. MM |

Good luck!! I bought one used one and it turned out to be a dud. Tried to get one rebuilt with no luck. Was going to bite the bullet and get a Works shock @ $700 and finally found a new in the box 16.5 stocker. |

I road my S3 for years on the stock shock/forks as I didn't have the money either. That said, once I did bite the bullet, changing to a Penske and respringing and adding gold valve emulation to the forks was the BEST money I ever spent on the bike. If you are planning on keeping the bike - find a way you won't regret it! |

That's a smoking deal on a Penske... too bad I'm a novice in suspension adjusting.. the more the adjustments, the more mistakes I'll make |

Disregard the PM about the Penske. I just found your post in the classifieds. The shock is for an XB not a tuber. Big difference. |
