I had looked at LED headlights a while back but they didn't seem ready for prime time yet, but with this thread popped up http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/737422.html?1399859397 I decided to look at them again. I already had HID's on the low beams only because there is limited space to mount the ballast's, you can see in the pics below that I have the slim Ballast's mounted between the assemblies. While digging around I came across these all-in-one units. http://www.siriusled.net/products/all-in-one-led-h eadlight-h11-9005-9006 They are a little longer that the units with the separate ballast's but not too bad. They fired right up and work great, they are 6000k just like my HID's but are definitely whiter whereas the HID's have a very slight blue tint. I moved the HID's to the high beams since I don't really use Flash-to-pass but wanted the extra light output out here at night in the boonies.

Our bikes take a H8 correct? I only see H11 9005 and 9006 listed. Am I just missing our size listing? |

H8 and H11 are basically the same thing, its just that the little retaining tangs are slightly different. The H11's fit ours with perfectly without modification. |

Will the H11's fit the 1125CR without modification as well? |

The CR uses H7 bulbs, which mount differently than the bulbs above.
On their site when you click H7 it only shows the H8 and H11 bulbs |

so that 75$ kit that you bought - does it just plug into existing sockets/plugs? Or are there any modifications required to make this work? Can you do it for both high and low or what? I like the idea of more light for cheap, as I too also live out in the rural area, so more light would be awesome |

Yup plug and play, only modification was to trim the rubber boot that goes over the back of the housing since these stick out so far. It can be done for High and Low I just bought 1 set for now so that I could see how they fit and worked. |

If I heard the video correctly, the base of the assembly contains a fan and resistor. If that is correct then the rubber boot over the base of the assembly would restrict airflow a bit where heat dissipation might be something to watch. Do I have this fan thing correct? Sure look interesting. |

If you get caught in the rain and the rear of those LED lights, which would be sticking out of their rubber gaskets, get wet, then what? |

Just thought I would bring this back to life. Advmonster now has LED Cree headlights and the reports on advrider seem very positive. Going to order the H8's myself. http://stores.advmonster.com/h8-led-headlight/ |
