The odd thing is I was going to go with a gold pin stripe. I think that would of looked good with the brown and black but when I tried the silver I noticed It brought out the silver or aluminum touches throughout the rest of the bike. Not for everyone I'm sure but what the hell. If I wanted to be like everyone else I would of bought a GSXR 1000. lol |

The tail looks too long to me. If it started sloping right after the seat it might look better. Also it seems to angle upward giving the seat a weird stance. With this theme I would also have considered an older style tank as the Manta tank is not very traditional looking and doesn't match the cafe look like an old S1 tank. |

the tail is 1 1/2 inches shorter than the stock m2 cyclone tail. I thought about the manta but the bar will not fit with that tank so I stayed with the older slim tank. The angle in the last pic does look extreme but the bike was facing down the driveway if you look as the other pics it is not as severe. Riding position is very close to stock m2. Seat pad however is thin but it's not that bad at all. |

if you want to run a manta tank there is an option for clip-on bars. I have S2 forks on my X1 which allows me to run LSL clip-ons on top of the top triple clamp. its an expensive route to go but you end up with great forks and true clip-ons. This "solution" or option might help balance the tail with the front of the bike and allow you to run the manta tank that you want. nice job on a café racer version of a Buell. |

I run Crossroads bars on my M2 with the big Manta tank, you just have to find the ones spec'ed for the S1W or X1... early M2 and S1 had that slim tank. Compliments first: I love the paint, very tasteful combination and clean application, it looks great. I also love the blacked out side covers and swingarm, looks sharp and suits the overall look. I like what the tail does specifically with regard to the storage and oil tank access, very practical. Love the tail light as well, very cool. Hate the shape of that tail section buddy. It's ugly, with or without the sweet matching paint, I think the tail fails to blend in any way with the shape and lines on the rest of the bike... but I think I see what you're working for... so I get it, even if I don't like it. It's cool to see what others are doing with their bikes, thanks for sharing yours with us here. |
