He's not gonna have much fun when he starts it if he doesn't give that pipe more room around the frame like I suggested...

seen a FI Turbo X1 that performed ok here in Australia 14 years back. i thought it was a waste of time then, & i still do. as it's hard to use all the power you can tune from a NA buell. like for instance a good rider on a stock m2 with just race pipe carbon air cleaner & lightning ignition module other wise stock stock everything can do 11's in quarter mile, my friend here got a new m2 in 1999 took straight to drag strip ran 11.9 & with more practice went 11.3 . so if this guy can't do that as the bike is stock he is waisting time & $ doing this as it gets harder the more HP & TQ they make. so whats the point?
also s&s Rods not good enough, corrillo would be better .
but the Male female design with roller bearings just can't take high shock loads. just a fact.
i have seen three broken crank pins from EVO big twins just stock low HP motors high mileage, but crank broke in half not one but three different bikes.
i've seen more broken female rods than i can remember, when they break they take everything break the cases, if your doing high speed it's bad news .
but i love these bikes just they have there limits.

That cut in the frame with the flat plate section repaired in is very sub-par to the original design. That thing will not be as rigid anymore.

my thoughts as well. I would have left the frame intact at all costs.

I love it. In my untrained opinion I think this thing is a train wreck. I don't know why. I don't know much about buells or bike in general for that matter. But now my x1 needs tlc so I'm learning. But there is a little part of me that just know this is bad. I like where he says they are removing extra stuff like parts of the frame. I looked at my bike I couldn't find "extra" frame.

I can think of lot better ways to spend 11k+ if I wanted a sport bike killer (other than american, as he said).

Its not like a tuber isn't well suited to this in it's stock form, anybody who has every pushed one in the twisties knows there are very few bikes that can do better...the area in which a tuber is lacking is in top-end power, which is why a liter bike will walk away on the straights...unfortunately his 8gs in motor and turbo work ain't really gonna improve that shortcoming.

Good for him though, if he didn't build a turbo bike then the terrorists would really have won.
