I want to get rid of that ugly tag holder.. what have you guys done to make the rear end look better? I was thinking about cutting it down and remounting the tag just behind the brake light. or making a whole new mount out of aluminum.. Any other options? |

I made this holder from 18-20 gauge stainless. It sandwiches between the undertail and the taillight. I bent some ears to hold the signals and added a couple of LEDs below the plate. I'm big on visibility. Notice the extra LED side markers too

I thought so too, so about a week after I bought my X1 in 1999, I bought a new rear fender/license plate mount. It was $12 at the dealer. My intention was to cut it down, which I did, but never got around to actually putting it on the bike. I quickly became used to the way the fender looked, and forgot all about it. |
