That is a badass looking S1. But what kind of exhaust is on it? Looks almost X1-like. The X1 header/muffler wont fit on an S1 will it?

If I'm all honest I can't remember much about Jack's S1 other than it had more torque than a freight train.

First time I went out on it at Bonneville it was struggling to make power and get past 100mph. I returned to the pits. Reported to Jack it was running way lean at top end and I was backing off the throttle to make it pick up. Jack then remembers he needed to fill it with gas. We laughed.

My second attempt, holy dog breath did it go like f**k. I remember part of the conversation with the start line marshal. Basically telling me to watch the course. Understand the marker boards and the slowing down area and where to turn off the course. Oh yeah, and no rooster tails.

Yeah right mate. Yer 'avin a larf. No rooster tails? I don't think so. I've come a long way for this. I gave it the berries and fishtailed it away with a nice long rooster tail of salt flat. It was a fantastic bike and I still have my run count stickers from it and a Bonneville scrutineers pass sticker for my own S1 in homage to Jack's. As a present Jack gave me the valve caps with the Stars n Stripes. I had them on my Buell for years until some bastard stole them off my Buell from under my nose whilst it was in my workshop. Lucky for them I had no idea what day they went missing otherwise I'd have tracked down every customer I had that day and killed the thief had I have found them.
