Trying to do a XB front and rear conversion, however I need a XB rear wheel and axle.

What color do you want? I have Cherrybomb red, villain black, and hero blue. I have the axle too.

I have pics of the blue one here, but would need to get some of the black or red ones.

Can both the front and rear be converted to Xb wheels with just adapters/new axles? Or are there modifications required?

rear can be adapted with spacers and usually some trimming of the brake mount. The front need XB forks and axle to do it right, either with '03/'04 forks in the 54mm tuber triples, or with XB triples custom fitted for other year forks. I've done the front with both adapters, spacers, and different bearings on the stock S2 forks, and '03 XB forks and axle in the tuber triples. The XB front wheel in the sock forks was a pain because I had to switch the wheel to tuber wheel bearings (same OD, different ID), and shave the fork lowers for more space, then build a caliper adapter out of steel, which was really hard to trust under force.

With Xb forks in tuber triples, does the brake caliper line up? That would mean that the fork centers (distance apart) are the same on tubers and Xbs?

Yo Froggy,

I am not really concerned with color more on cost because I have to repaint them to match the front.
What type of price can you run?
Or you can pm me.

Jimi, you shouldn't need an XB axle for the conversion unless you plan on using an XB swingarm as well. If using the stock axle, you can get the adapter spacers on eBay for about $43.

While we're sharing advice for wheel swaps though, here's some nice bearing info I found when I used the XB wheel and brake in the stock WP roma forks with custom spacers and caliper adapter.

"Just thought this would come in handy for anyone out there looking to replace their wheel bearings soon or working on a wheel swap like me. The numbers in perintheses are in milimeters- Outside Diameter (OD), Inside Diameter (ID), and Width (W).

Castalloy Wheels - NSK bearings

Front wheel - 6204-2RS (47 OD, 20 ID, 14 W)
Rear wheel
Right side - 6205-2RS (52 OD, 25 ID, 15 W)
Left side - 62205-2RS (52 OD, 25 ID, 18 W)

PM (Chrome) Wheels - NSK bearings

Front wheel - 6204-2RS (47 OD, 20 ID, 14 W)
Rear Wheel - 6205-2RS (52 OD, 25 ID, 15 W)

XB Wheels - FAG bearings (IIRC)

Front wheel 6005.2RSR (47 OD, 25 ID, 12 W)
Rear wheel 6006.2RSR (55 OD, 30 ID, 13 W)

On a side note, you can use the part numbers and go to your local BEARING SUPPLY STORE and find brand alternatives if you desire, but remember, not all bearings are created equally. Also make sure to use the proper torque specs tightening down your axles so that you don't overtighten them and damage the bearings.

On a side note, I used Koyo 6204-2R's in my XB front wheel conversion. The bearings are the same dimensions as the NSK tuber bearings, but were $11/pr."

Froggy, do you still have the hero blue rims? Or a front c.b. red rim?

I still have the hero blue and a cherrybomb red rears, but no matching fronts. I have a black front, no rotor, if you are interested.
