Has anyone tried these or have any comments? seems like they could last longer than the OEM ball bearings

I would stick with the ball bearings, when you use tapered type you have to tighten them differently, I would think the torque specks will be totally different, could cause a severe wobble if not done right. |

Dunno - the OEM's are sealed and I wasn't aware that they wore out quickly but - tapered rollers cost more so that may have figured into OEM parts choice. What is cost comparison between these and OEM's? I'd be interested in learning how these work out, so there are more options as the OEM stuff starts to disappear. I'm not so interested in being the guinea pig though. |

My original set was shot by 8K miles, in the UK they are known to not last long, probably not helped by our wonderful weather. |

I still have the original set of bearings in mine, 2009, 24,000 miles with track use and no issue at all. If your bike gets wet a lot it won't matter what bearings you use, life span will be cut short. |

Just an update on these, pulled the frame to do the 12K service and found the steering bearings totally shot again, ordered a set of these for £26 and they arrived today, they are 50.5mm OD, need to be 49mm and do not have the flange so completely useless and will not fit a 1125 at all. Ordered the OEM from the dealer today, cost £77 here in the UK and was also informed the valve shims I ordered at the weekend will not be available for several weeks, Joy! |
