I have a 2000 x1 and from what I've read here it shares the same motor with the sporty as a 1200 evo motor. My questions I have been searching for a complete gasket kit and I use Cometic for all my other bikes and would love to use them for this one but I have a predicament. Their Buell category only displays gaskets for xb models but they do have a 91-03 Evo 1200 sporty motor complete casket kit for 200. 150 with the .30 head gasket which confuses me with the price diff but my ques is anyone here think this is the same motor. It may be worth buying just to see lol... http://www.shopengineparts.com/parts.aspx?eid=483& cid=61&type=engine&vtype=V-Twin&make=Harley-Davids on&model=Evolution+Sportster |

'00-'03 Sportster gaskets of the right displacement is what you need. The motors at the gaskets are the same as the same year Sportsters for the most part. some of the parts are indeed different (like all the EFI parts on the X1/S3), but the gaskets on tĥe rest of the motor are the same. |

The 1200 kits are at the bottom of the page lol. but I see the sportys didn't go efi till later so the kit would include parts for a carbd intake. I need a top end kit anyway but it is good to know since I'm looking at a sporty gear box right now to replace mine and have been hesitating on jumping on it... |

Just found out if I call them they will mix and match gaskets so I can get the 91-03 1200cc engine kit with the EFI intake gasket setup in one kit. I'm a big fan of Cometic and becoming a bigger one lol. |

Just found that Thanks though. That's a pretty sweet deal since I was expecting more. I just got done buying every seal, O-Ring, Gasket, Washer and Bearings for my 97 7R and I paid around 500ish for it all so 150 is mighty pleasing to see right now. Just wondering Ill be researching here soon but from what I've read the Transmission is simple to remove. What gaskets or seals will I need to put it back in and any special tools. I am hoping to take a week and fix my false Neutrals and Effed up second. Just gotta pull it and see what needs to be replaced. probably going to be buying a CR kit for gears one through three since their really not that much more lol. |

I have my welder making me a tank right now but I plan on doing the xb top end conversion as well when I install the turbo and am wondering will I need a xb top end gasket kit or just the rocker box. |

The "top end kit" is everything base gaskets-up. EVERYthing - intake, exhaust, valve seals, headgaskets, all of it. There are also "rockerbox kits" available. |

So I should get the x1 rebuild kit and the xb top end kit. Fair enough sounds pretty simple. what year xb heads will work on my x1 anyone know. I just bought a complete x1 tranny in great shape to use in the bike while I sort mine out with the cr gears and correcting any other issues in there. |
