I would like to replace my crank sensor to see if this will help my intermittent sputter issue I've been fighting for a few years now. Part should be available from Harley. Is there a better one out there to get or the stock one is fine?? Anything I should stay away from if not stock?? Thanks........jim |

The aftermarket ones for sporty's are the same thing and 1/2 to a 1/3 of the price of genuine HD parts....I have used both and never noticed a difference -Mike |

Thanks Mike.......still a little leary about not using factory parts........even though it's Harley crap. I hate to waste the money when I could have made the initial investment right away. Any certain aftermarket part preferable?? Thanks.........jim |

So the sensor is the same, is the cup the same too? I doubt it, as the sensor controls the fuel delivery / pump and spark timing...... } |

The cups are different. The X1/S3 cup is quite different from a standard ignition XL motor. Sportsters didn't go fuelie until 2006 (if memory serves, might have been 05), it is a very different FI setup. |
