Does the same year 2008 OEM 1125R ECM (Ser # off by 15-30 either up or down and only has 500 miles with no remapping done) have to be REFLASHED in order to be hooked up to and then used on an XB12 with a Thunderstorm Motor? Thanks. (Message edited by RickPXB12SCGR on January 13, 2014) |

Yes it will need to be reprogrammed. The 08+ XB and 1125 bikes all use the same ECM, but the programming on it (fuel maps, ignition, fan settings, etc) are all different to match the two totally different bikes. Easiest thing to do would be to find a EEPROM for a XB12 that is of the same firmware type. When you connect Tunerpro you can find out which firmware it has (BUE2D, BUEGB, etc) and then get a matching XB12 EEPROM. You could just flash it on yourself and be good to go. |

Thanks Froggy. How do you REFLASH without Tunerpro? |

Realistically, you can't on your own without TunerPro or similar program. A dealer could possibly do it for you, I know they can program new/blank ECMs to the correct type, but I don't know if they can do a used one. Tunepro RT is free to use, it has a bit of a learning curve but will do what you want and allow you to tweak any settings desired. http://tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm |

What he said. Google how to use Tunerpro RT, download the Buell IO plugin, etc. |
