I am in between bikes now (sold my cr in October) and an looking for a bike that can give me several seasons and upwards of 50,000 miles. I know the 1125 platform well from my cr (got 22,500 from it). What I would like to know is, how many miles do you have on your '08 1125? Also what issues did you have with it? I know the common ones, ic drain and clutch weep. Has your 08 ever left you stranded? Thank you for your help, ill also be making a similar post in the xb section on the Uly and Lightning. |

Mike the 08's are a great platform. You can rest easy on the stator issue, the clutch upgrade is simple and easy for any of the years. The 08's that I have seen are very reliable. The early machines had cruddy fuel maps that are very easily remedied. Thats about all I can tell you as long as proper maintence has been done I can't see not getting 50K plus outa one. |

16,500 on mine, bought it in '10 with only 4,000 miles and for the most part just "normal" stuff. I had the belt snap on me at 12,000 miles and did the EBR clutch fix around the same time. Only odd thing for me is the CEL/low fuel light that was always on. I had it fixed last year and I can't remember what the heck it was that caused it, I'm sure I posted about it. |

I have 24,000 on my 08 and it has been trouble free since I picked it up at 9,000. In fact mine still hasn't had the dreaded clutch weep but I do have the EBR set up sitting on the shelf ready to go. My brother has over 50,000 on his 08 and it has been relatively trouble free. He just had to change the output shaft seal and water pump seal. |

I had the cel/low fuel light on my cr, only in the cold (under 45°F) from what I understand it is a resistance issue and the ic misunderstands this to be a low pressure fuel issue. Replacing the ic to one with new software fixes this I believe. Thank you everyone for the information so far. Saving up right now, but I'm aiming to buy a bike around August-September. |

My 2008 1125R has been bulletproof for the year I have had it. The IC and clutch weep was fixed under warranty before I bought it. I am the second owner. It has had no issues, I keep full synth fluids and water wetter in it. I have put over 5000 miles on it so far with no problems. |

Picked my 08 up a couple of years ago with 30K on it and now it has 50K. It has never left me stranded. Most of the repair work I have done was due to poor dealer maintenance. Problems, aside from dealers, so far have been a leaking final drive seal and I had the thrust washer in the water pump fail. I just got done fixing that. It is still going strong and expect to get quite a bit more out of it. |

Have 40,000 miles on my 1125R. Only issue was the clutch weep, which was fixed with the last revision of the cylinder. |

closing in on 28k on mine issues: clutch weep (fixed), and leaking clutch master cylinder - they (dealer) ordered a new one, the original hadnt been installed correctly from the factory At least I got a loaner bike for a week while waiting on the part to arrive |

Well I just did the clutch weep (spray) on my 09, my 08 never had the issue Regardless, the EBR fix was nice, easy and works great |

I have an 08, # 00154. Assembled/born first week of Nov 2007. Bought 16DEC07, delivered 18DEC07 after a 10" blizzard. 28dF that day, I only put 20 miles on her. I added the Select Tour seat and heated grips later that evening in my garage. 28k miles now, would be more but I also have a 2009 XB12X with 34k miles. I had issues with front brakes, switch on IC, fuel pump and a front exhaust cam that de-laminated. All were fixed under warranty. Buell had an "Infant Care" program when they released the 1125 and I had a designated tech at Buell. It was "manufacturer involvement" like I have never seen elsewhere. Of 5 tats, Buell is the only name I wear. Footnote: Local H-D/B shop tried to deny a warranty issue, Buell Corporate said otherwise. It was a shop I worked at for 3+ years and won't recommend... Bottom line - I have 2 bikes. Both Buells. Hope you enjoy yours like I do mine. Loretta has never left me stranded.
