Hello all, I am the original owner of a 99 S3T with 36000 miles. The bike is stock. The fuel pump and oxygen sensor have been replaced recently. The problem I am having is that the bike seems to surge at constant speed. It doesn't seem to miss, but the power fades. A couple of pumps of the throttle and the bike accelerates, then fades again. Any ideas? |

It may be something simple like the intake air temp sensor not being in the correct location. My X1 ran better once I relocated my sensor to near the intake. (previous dealership meddling moved it off to the side of the airbox out of the way in stagnant air) I little exhaust leak at the header can confuse the oxygen sensor too. My O2 sensor liked to rub the wire through until I tied it out of harm's way. Easiest exhaust test: tap the header with a steel toed boot. heavy solid thump = good any sort of rattle = something is wrong find it for great justice! |
