So long story short for those who need a backstory.. Got my '00 X1, took it out for maiden voyage, and 3/4 mile into it, she died and hasn't started since. Went through the entire fuel system, and finally came to the conclusion that the fuel pump is the culprit, more by process of elimination. So I went the long way and did everything else before checking the fuel pump (yes, I know, lesson learned....) and re-installed my injectors last night. Link below to what I'm talking about, but they are set solidly in the fuel rail, but where they go into the throttle body, they aren't set too deep in there...is this normal, or did I do something wrong here? http://imgur.com/a/VIN12 |

that looks ok to me. It shouldn't matter to much as long as the spray of the injector is not blocked by the mounting ports. I have seen them farther up and still function just fine. once they are clipped in there wont be an issue. I changed out some new injector years ago because one was leaking on start up. i just lubed the o-rings with a little sil-glyde brake lube. |
