My 08 has the stock heated grips. Ive never experienced both of them working right as my right grip needs replacing. Is it worth the $80 to replace the right side or should I go with the bikemaster set for for $55? |

I second the polygrips and the cost was about $27 on Amazon. Jeff |

How do the polly grips work with the old heated grips in place? |

Should work fine. The Polly heaters are great in terms of durability and simplicity, but they have a lot of latency between "turn on" and "heat out". The original heated grips will likely make that a little worse, but you are talking a few minutes anyway, so a few more seconds on top of that won't make much difference. Basically, the polly heaters are putting a soldering iron in each end of your bar. The heat *will* come out eventually. |

When I did the Polly grip I put a resister in line because they where way to hot, you could also use a turn signal flasher I have been told. |

Better to use something like this (which I have not tried, but bet it would work great): http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Efficiency-Adjustable -DC-12V-40V-DC-Motor-Speed-Controller-PWM-Controll er-/181291750957?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a 35d4962d You want a DC motor controller of the right voltage (i.e. 12-15V) and enough power (the heaters probably draw under 40 watts). That's better than a resistor, as a resistor just becomes another heater somewhere. These are PWM controllers, which don't do that (I can do a math treatise on why later, just take my word for it). My thermostat V6 is sitting right at my elbow distracting me from work while I type this... so there will likely be a kit version of that people could build or buy before too long as well. |
