Author Message   Ron47 Posted on Thursday, October 31, 2013 - 03:07 pm:        When you guys refer to the EBR module, are you talking about a hardware changeout or a re-flash program? Can one look at the module and tell if it is OEM or EBR? There was wording in the for sale ad when I bought my '08 to the effect of it having an EBR program (I think) but I am clueless on how to determine what has been done.   Kruizen Posted on Thursday, October 31, 2013 - 03:40 pm:        take off the left pod cover, the little black box will be stamped with "Race Use Only" if it is an aftermarket/EBR ECM.   Froggy Posted on Thursday, October 31, 2013 - 03:50 pm:        The race ECM is a physical unit, not a software package (unless you buy the programmable version with the tuning software) Like Kruizen said, just pop off the radiator cover and look, there is a black box with two large connectors, the race ECM says For Race Use Only, while the stock ECM just has some barcode stickers. FSM - factory service manual (mechanical) EDM - electrical diagnostic manual Parts Catalog Make sure to get the right year for your bike. don't get "close". If you determine you have an OEM and not race ECM, try to find a Buell friendly Harley shop to ensure you have the latest map firmware. All they have to do is hook the ECM to their "Digital Tech" console. It will check the firmware rev and install the latest if necessary.
