I sure hope there is another trim piece that is supposed to cover that radiator fan. |

The fan is in the exact some place that it is on the 1190RS, and I didn't hear anybody complain about the way the fans look on it. I think the fan just stands out in this picture due to the lighting and the angle of the photo. I know that on the 1190RS the fans "disappear" unless you're looking at them from the right angle, and I'm pretty sure the RX will be the same. |

I like the fans ... function before fashion. Of course no one wants stuff just just sticking out there, but I think the break in the fairing looks good and unique ... and of course we can see the real reason. Making function fashionable is something the Buell designs have traditionally been good at. I will still be waiting for a more naked and flexible replacement for my Uly but I really like the way things are looking. |

I don't think Buell designs have ever made anything fashionable. But Hugh is right. When I look at the photo of the black / orange one, the fan cavity doesn't detract at all. It was just the angle on the cover photo. |

Personally, I'd like even less plastic, but I'm sure those pieces are there for a reason such as proper cooling air flow. Can they build a Uly style on that base? Hopefully we'll find out. |

I respectfully completely disagree. I think many sport bikes just have plastic slapped on the sides to hide stuff and because of that I have never been interested. On dual sports, I think most out there are just plain ugly. My Uly is no prom queen, but I'll take it any day over a comparable bike from one of the competitors in that arena. I think she is way above average mixing usefulness with good lines. I think the XB Firebolts are beautiful and the Lightnings look cool. I had wanted a Buell for numerous reason (looks being one of them) for years before coming upon my Uly. This bike ...
Was the first time I ever thought about taking out a loan for a bike ... cool, practical, & pretty. If I could afford a second this is exactly what I would still get today. |

I should add that my wife wouldn't care much for this purchase though (or for an RX for that matter). The whole reason she is now interested in riding is because of how much she liked riding on the back of the Uly. My bike is still the practical, work horse, comfortable, transformable machine and all others are novelties. Do I care that my bike is practical ... absolutely not because it is a blast to ride. All that being said my wife is now on her 2nd bike in 18 months. Even though her current is a true cruiser (HD Sportster) she still prefers to ride pillion with me for any distance ... and she has a non standard plush cushy seat on the HD. My reason for mentioning this is that I still believe that even with all of the artificial hurdles that HD put in place to make Buell designs difficult to get out to consumers, I am much more happy with the pros than I am upset about the cons. Is it perfect ... no, but nothing is. It's the closest to perfection that I can get based on my needs and my wallet. Sorry for the hijack. For a full faired sport bike, I continue to like how Buell engineering designs are implemented in the real world. It has a rear seat +1, it looks a lot better than some of the other full faired machines out there +2, hopefully has great performance +3, and is the next step in the new evolution of Buell designs +4. I really hope EBR has rights for the Triple Tail, because that would be icing on the cake for the AX. |

"but I'm sure those pieces are there for a reason" The plastic is there to reduce aerodynamic drag. |

Lots of pictures from the introduction, including pics of some very interesting slides about the bike: http://ebrforum.com/showthread.php?69-Article-Live -Images-and-Info-from-1190RX-Debut-at-AIM-Expo Of interest to us for the upcoming AX version: 52 MPG EPA highway, 234 mile range. That's freaking amazing. |

Looks purrty. Those are some pretty competitive specs. And that is a long, fat torque curve for such a high-strung bike. The RC8 is the only offering I can think of that dishes out that kind of torque over that broad of a rev range. It should spawn a magnificent naked variant. Definitely on the pricey side at $19K, but they should still find buyers. I hope they do anyway. Does anyone know what that assembly is for on the front wheel? A different twist on wheelie control sensors or something? |

Now that I am looking more closely, it looks as though they are cooling ducts for the brakes. Clever. |

^ Yep. Introduced on the 1190RS a couple of years ago. Supposedly they were key to making the ZTL brake work in Superbike racing. |

If HD would have let him build bikes like this all along, I don't think I would ever have had to answer the question, "What's a Buell?". Well done EBR. |

Snooze you lose Joe I also am partial to yellow this time. I think that is what color I'll get mine in since there is no blue. |

Does that bike have a bottom slung muffler like the 1125? Yes, I see the other muff but is that the secondary muffler to the underslung muff? |

Yes it has two mufflers, the first one is under the motor Fans appear to not blow on the legs, they look ducted to blow to the sides |

Pic of a slide from the 1190RX reveal posted by AF1 Racing (Texas EBR dealer): Do those fans blow hot air on the rider's legs? It appears they blow out and back from the bike, so that the hot air should be clear of the rider's legs. It's the same setup as the 1190RS. Edit: photo posted by BuellXB.com; looks like the air will be blown clear of the rider's legs: (Message edited by Hughlysses on October 16, 2013) |

Financially I don't know if I can swing it anymore, between buying a new truck this year and now going to be moving soon, I'm not sure if I will have enough wiggleroom to buy one. I really want one, so we shall see. |

Froggy, Put me on the list for bottom feeders that would consider making you insultingly low offers for beat to hell Ulys so you can afford an RX |
