Eventually I'll replace the V&H on the Purple Nurple with a different canister more for the fun of it than anything else. It looks like things have dwindled down to just the Super Trapp and the Drummer for the over the frame header models. Has anyone here used the Drummer on the old ones? I know they're the bees knees for the XBs. (Message edited by SteveFord on September 12, 2013) |

I have one on my S1 but haven't put many miles on it yet. Looks good and sounds good and runs good. Mounted up ok. Had a lil bit of a hassle aligning the j-pipe mount tab to the Y bracket but that could of just been particular to my bike. |

The drummer will need a 2" straight inlet if your running the stock S2 exhaust. Does drummer offer that? |

Had a Drummer on my 2000 M2 for a couple weeks. The power seems right up there with the SuperTrapp. The Drummer sounds good at times, but to me the loudness got old real fast, changed back. |

I think you can get the 2" inlet. If you go to american sport bike, Al has all the options available on the site and would prolly better answer your questions. |

From what I understand D and D's have always been loud pipes. Even my vance and hines is getting too loud. I like the weight savings, but want something a little quieter.....even with new packing |

Mine is pretty quiet compared to what i'm use too. My bike originally had a ratted out white brothers super trap style can and the drummer is not much louder then it was. Don't have much experience with tuber exhaust as this is my first one but it is quieter then a xb drummer and definitely a lot quieter then 1125 drummer or keda rt 2 |

I have a D&D on my S2. It's tiny and VERY quiet compared to the D&D on my buddy's X1. But don't know if D&D offered a smaller quieter pipe for the later tubers. Anyone know? (Message edited by Beardo on September 14, 2013) |

I only know of the slip-on D&D and the full-system D&D, I don't know about the existence of a smaller quieter pipe for the later tubers, but I think I might be interested if one was available. I have a D&D on my 02 X1 (full system) and it is VERY loud. I also have an 02 M2 that had a D&D on it when I bought it, and it's not as loud as the full system D&D. Beardo-would you be able to post a pic of the "tiny" version? I'm curious to know what it looks like. |

Keep us updated. Nice mellow sound. I put my stock m2 exhaust on, but it is too quiet... |

I cut along the weld of the rear cap on the stock M2 can & wiggled it til the interior spot welds gave up & the cap & exit pipe came off. Then took the gas torch to crop off the inside tube, welded the cap back on & it's much freer but looks stock. Got more of a "raspy" sound to it too. |

This is really late, but here is the pic of the small D&D.

Thanks for the pic, Beardo. That's interesting, I wasn't really expecting it to have a megaphone shape. I've never seen one of those. Steveford - I probably don't even have a 100 miles on my X1's full D&D system, but I'm already considering selling it - not sure if it's too loud, or if it's just the wrong kind of loud for my taste. Harsh...blatty...echo-ey maybe?. At least that's what it sounds like from the driver's seat anyway. Maybe I'd think differently if I heard it from the side of the road. You originally asked about Drummers on the tubers...I don't have a Drummer on any of my tubers, but the Drummer on my XB does seem more "tuned" to the bike, and to my ear kind of sounds like a stunt plane on a vertical dive. Nothing harsh about it like the D&D seems to be. I would say tubers also seem very happy with a Supertrapp mounted up, and seem to rev more freely IMO. I have a titanium Wileyco on an M2, and though it feels somewhat restrictive in the lower speeds, out on the highway around 80 the bike seems quite content. Great acceleration and the engine just purrs. Give it some throttle and off she goes! And with a nice growl, IMO...yet respectfully quiet at idle and when cruising. I bought it new, and was particularly careful when mounting to avoid any stress at mounting points, and I regularly check the bolts, especially the flange at the inlet. No problems so far. I think the Wileyco is the nicest looking muffler, with the brushed titanium finish and polished rear clamps. Just my opinions, mind you.. |

I've got the Wileyco on my S1 (stainless) and X1W (titanium) and they work pretty well but I'm sure aren't the last word in horsepower by any means. The D&D was just too loud and raspy for street use, in my opinion, and they don't offer an alternate baffle but the new owner likes it well enough. The repacked V&H canister on the Purple Nurple (S2) is just plain LOUD but I can live with the sound of that one. |

Steveford- I had a Drummer on my S3 for about a year. Power was good and loudness was tolerable. I sold the muffler separately about a month before I sold the bike. All things considered, I think I preferred the stock exhaust. The tuber exhausts seem to have a little more rumble than the XB exhausts; I wish I could make my Uly sound like that. |

I've had 'em all or heard 'em all. D&D is way loud and nasty. Drummer along with the race exhaust has the best sound and performance. Force is way too loud. V&H sounds good until it blows apart(and it will). Wileyco has a nice sound. With what's available, I would go with a Drummer. |

I've been running a Drummer on my 2000 M2 for a while now any really like it. For all day rides I do wear ear plugs though. I've had lots of compliments on the sound which is a nice deep rumble. |
