haven't ridden for 2 weeks. Last time I rode temp' was 98F (As it has been for the whole summer it seems). Wheeled the bike out of the garage c5:30 AM, temp' 65F. All summer the bike has run like a dream. This AM it coughed & spluttered @ low rev's and threatened to quit when at stoplights. BY the time I got to work (c15 miles) everything was back to normal. I believe it was simply the ECM learning to operate @ a much lower temp' NOTE: The bike had sat for 2 weeks but the gas was less than 3 weeks old. |

My bike tends to run like crap when I change elevation (I.e. fl to mn, mn to co), but generally adapts when I run it for fifteen or so minutes at 3k rpms. When we were in fl, it ran like a bat out of hades when the weather cooled. Like me, it loves the cooler temps. Have u done the ecm relocation? Any chance it or the connections cracked over the summer? B. |

ECM didn't learn anything, it simply took longer for the bike to warm up. They tend to run funny when cold, but then once warm they are good to go. |

I have relocated the ECM & there are no cracks visible around the plugs. It's running fine now. I was assuming that the ECM had to adjust to the colder/thicker air following the 30 degree drop in air temp'. The bike has c28K on it & hasn't ever given me any real problems & will hopefully continue not to do so. |

"My bike tends to run like crap when I change elevation (I.e. fl to mn, mn to co), but generally adapts". These bikes do not have a Barometric sensor and rely on the IAT and O2 sensors. As said the bike should be fine on a run. |
