2007 XB9Sx - bought it with 5100 miles and it failed the rear crank-rod bearing 500 miles later... Going to cost $2000+ to rebuild the motor myself with new parts so looking for a GOOD used motor or GOOD used parts. Thanks. Alternatively I may be parting the bike out soon if I don't find the parts I need.} |

Tim- good luck with your project. Hopefully New12r can help you out. If you do decide to rebuild yours, use an 08-up crankshaft. Cost is same as 07 unit (~$700) and it has the larger crankpin and stronger rods. You'll also have to change the primary sprocket if you go that route. If you replace your engine, you can recover a lot of the cost by parting out your old engine- people are always looking for rocker covers, heads, cases, etc. |
