Wow... sounds like a good time. Of course, it ALWAYS rains for that ride. I rode from Langhorne to Gettysburg on Saturday and visited the National Military Park as well as the Eisenhower NHS. I took a good bunch of photos too. None uploaded yet. It was not so many miles as Tucson to Colorado, but it was a fun ride. I think I got about 300 miles or so for the day. Glad you guys had an nice time. Too bad you didn't get any more riders. |

Greetings from Nebraska, It was great seeing everybody thank you Dave for everything. It was great meeing Al and Ken & Cheryl for the first time. Doug bummer for the problem with your XB12R and thank you for the good deal on the tour seat, that will help make my CR a better ride. Nick good seeing you again, Bob was kind enough to show me his new CR conversion to Tour bike, Bob did the job right and it looks great, thanks Bob for the insight. Sunday After the group left the Sagebrush Inn I finally got myself gathered up and started the 739 mile trek back to Columbus, Nebraska. Spotted Dave & Denise, Bob & Diane, Jody having lunch as I rode through Walsenburg. I had a good ride all the way home, a little hot 95 to 98 F however I had a nice tail wind to boost me on my way, I got home at 11:00 PM 12.5 hours in the saddle. I really made use of my fuel bladder on this trip home 225 to 250 miles between stops. I really had a great time and thank you everybody for putting up with me, plan on seeing you all again next year. |

I'm glad everyone made it home safely. I want to thank Bob & Dave again for the rescue. You guys saved me from all the bears except one (Mama bear). I had a great time until the fuel pump went out. Saturday night was nice I enjoyed sitting outside the Sagebrush drinking beer and smoking cigars with everyone. I hope to see all of you again next year. Doug |

Picked up an 03 9R yesterday, some rough spots, good motor and trans, forks need rebuilt and plastics are rashed from a low-side. Fortunately most of it is cosmetic. Bonus, it's got the full factory race kit! Parts I need: R rear subframe Shifter assy (lever, linkage and arm) Swingarm brace Left side rider peg, 1" drop OR 0 drop pegs, L&R Left handlebar Misc hardware (chin and airbox bolts, etc) If anyone is cleaning out their garage and is tired of looking at the pile of parts in the corner, I'd be happy to help you out Partial tear-down

for the chin bolts, you need rivets to hold the 3 pieces together? or the actual bolts to mount to the exhaust (i.e. the T27 torx screws?) I may have a few extra of these... Ill have to look and see what all I still have from my old bolt. |

Yes Adam, the Torx screws, thanks. It's missing the majority of them, I bet I only have 4 correct fasteners for the chin, airbox, front fairing and tail. The bike as a whole isn't really that bad, it's just been...neglected |

I finally took the bike out for a little ride yesterday up to Santa Fe and back via NM14. Had lunch in the Plaza and made it out & back before the rain moved in. So far, I really like the Q3 tires... although anything at this point beats out what I had, especially since the old ones were pretty worn. Sparky- havent had a chance to get into my storage unit yet... I'm going by this weekend to look for a few things. I will let you know if I find anything of interest for your new XB. |

no, I had gone there for an interview... but havent moved yet... still in lovely ABQ. We sold our house in April, and have been living with the in-laws since then. I did get a call back yesterday from the company that originally interviewed me. They want to do a second interview, so it may not be too long before I get moved down there. still up in the air though. |

Adam, Congrats on the job, good luck out there. The riding isn't so bad, do a google search for Texas, twisted sisters. http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/5909981/ it's a series of roads that twist together. Definitely a must ride when in Texas |

Bart, Thanks! The road looks nice. It is a bit of a ride from where I will be, but I'm sure I will try it out at some point. I'm not saying there arent nice roads out there... just none as convenient as there are living here. |

Went on a little ride yesterday. It was about 500 Miles. One last ride with my dad before I move, and one last run through NM 64 We had lunch up in Chama, and managed to stay dry for the most part despite the cloud cover. We started out through Jemez and the entire way through it looked like it was going to rain on us, but it never did. It cleared up right as we got to the Valles Caldera, but it was still a bit chilly (stupid me, I was wearing a mesh summer jacket) It was clear again until we turned off of NM 64 in Tierra Amarilla, and as we approached Chama the clouds were moving back in. We got into town just as it started to sprinkle. While we ate, we watched as it rained for about 15 minutes with mixed hail balls about the size of small pelots. After lunch we walked out under the porch on the front of the restaurant and donned our rain gear only to find that the rain had subsided (save for a few random drops here and there) We made it down to the Echo Amphitheater before we put the gear away, but as we were leaving there it started to sprinkle again. The storm followed us (just behind us) all the way home, and we pulled in the driveway just before it started to really pour. All in all, it was a great ride, except for the 30 MPH side wind coming back from Santa Fe. I got some video of NM64 on my GoPro. Once I get it loaded I will post some up.

got some of the video posted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4RyVwcLiQo just the first 9 min of the stretch of 64 starting in Tres Piedras. Sparky, I went down to the storage shed last week, but all of my spare motorcycle stuff is buried underneath boxes and more boxes. I have found 3 or 4 spare torx screws at the house though if you still need them. |

Thanks Adam, much appreciated. I managed to scrounge most of what I needed from a guy in San Jose relatively cheap (paid for the postage) and the rest I picked up local at the hardware store. |
