So I rotated the engine in my '09 XT using this as a guide. http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourse lf-Buell-Mods/How-to-Rotate-your-engine--With-Pics I'm now at the end of un-rotating, and can't get the bike to start. I'm thinking it's something to do with the fuel pump, as I'm not getting the high pitched whine, which I assume is the pump priming, when I hit the kill switch, just a soft kind of gurgle. And only silence, not even the gurgle, when I let off the start button, where it used to do the whine again if it failed to catch. I've checked the fuel line disconnect and the injector leads, as well as the fuel pump fuse. All look good to me. Anybody run into this sort of thing before? What should I be looking at for failures? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. :-) |

Did you get the fuel pump connector behind the left foot peg mount? I just rotated my engine last night and I see how that connect could easily slip my mind. |

Weak/poor ground. As a test, take a jumper wire direct from the ground on the battery and connect it anywhere on the main frame or engine. |

Hey Red, funny meeting you here. Nailed it, thanks! If I ever make it out to Indy or Doom, the first couple rounds are on me. |

I saw your name as the poster so I dropped in to see what was going on. Glad you sorted it out! What caused you to rotate your engine? |

How hard was the actual rotation process and how long did it take you? |

I thought it was pretty easy, considering what you're actually doing. The only part that was tough for me was the rear axle. It didn't want to break free. |

Snapped an exhaust stud on the rear cylinder. Great fun. |

Rotation only took a couple three hours or so. Took my time as it's the first time I'd done it. Pretty straight forward really. |

Calamari, What'd you do to snap the rear cylinder stud. I'd like to know so that I can avoid the same when the time comes. |

I was slacking on my maintenance. Let the nuts get loose, and next thing ya know. |
