Tends to happen with cheaper bulbs... To cut costs, the metal salt amounts are reduced, causing the bulb to burn hotter. I'm assuming you used something like a DDM kit? |

Sorry to hear, I install these just about every day. The new thing is LED headlights might want to give it a shot for the next go around. I just ordered a few sets for our shop to see how they compare. Here is a comparable kit I found on E-Bay http://www.ebay.com/itm/HCX-LED-Headlamp-conversio n-kit-H7-5500K-1800lm-low-beam-headlight-driving-l ight-/230830555135?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Acces sories&hash=item35be92bfff&vxp=mtr There are others that are about the $130 mark that look just the same |

Mines the same way. Toasted.... Now the light is dangerously weak at night. HID from same place. I'd be real skeptical on those LED headlights. But I'd try if it was cheap enough |

Newer vehicles already have them in them from the factory. Hopefully I get them in soon, and I'll let ya know how they are. I work for a dealership, and they won't put them in cars if they are crap. |

Light output from the LED headlight bulbs are somewhere between Halogen and HID as far as total output is concerned. Not sure on heat numbers yet, but they will for sure be considerably larger than any HID or Halogen bulb with the added heatsink. Make sure you have enough space for the heatsink (and fan in the linked bulbs) behind the bulb, inside the headlight housing. |

LED lights are the future, but that kit doesn't look particularly weatherproof. I'd sure be interested to see someone else try though... |

I thought the whole point of LED lighting was the tremendous efficiency they achieve by NOT creating a bunch of waste heat? |

I believe the fans are to cool the controllers, not the Led's themselves. |

I believe the fans are to cool the controllers, not the Led's themselves. I disagree, the "controller" makes regulated pulsed higher voltage to the "lamp" the fan and plate are to circulate air around the heat sink on the base of the lamp. look at the e-bay listing details on the lamps. I would wait a while yet at 899$ the first Ebay seller is not likely to sell many. at 199$ perhaps more, its a buyer be ware commercial work light fixtures with High output LED lamps are in the 200$ 300$ dollar range The emitters get hot but not as hot as hid lamps, BTW thanks for the heads up as I was considering an HID setup for my '25 an advantage of using the led is reduced wattage for light which saves the alternator. } |

Sucks because the H8 bulbs are just garbage no matter how you look at it. I'm considering trying H11 in the lows since one side already scorched and 110 watts from 2 bulbs doesn't exceed the 140 with all 4 running or maybe even shoehorning some projectors in there. |

LEDs will get hot, but nothing like a bulb will. Most of your heat is from the regulation circuitry, which has your heatsinks on it. LEDs are the future for all lights, no doubt!! Just be careful with the new stuff that's not backed by a well known maker, that's all. |

The fans are for mounting to the base of the LED bulb, not for the controllers. Also, what Shawns said (and what I have said in the past). |
