So every once and awhile usually when I'm cruising at about 80 mph or more the bike engine fault light comes on. When I go home and shut it off and turn it back on the light is off. When I try to read the codes nothing happens its like they vanished or where never there. Advice? Anyone have this happen to them before? I was thinking maybe engine misfire or something but I think I may need a new battery because when I'm at idle and first started the lights on my dash go dim along with my headlight and then after it dims my engine rpm kicks up a little like to charge the battery more? I'm not sure any info would help I can't figure it out for the life of me |

Sounds like a short. I've found a broken wire INSIDE the insulation of a wire that was inside the wiring loom going to the headlight. Unfortunately, manufacturer's don't like to spend $20 more for wiring each bike with some slack in the wiring loom/harness and that causes a lot of issues over time. Time to take the tank off and get in there brother. |
