Bet that title got folks' attention... My S2 has the original "greenie" air filter on it. I love it. But...if the bike sits in the rain and the filter housing gets wet, that CF cover turns milky-white. It cleans up just fine with Mothers polishing compound and some elbow grease. I can put some Mothers wax on it...but as hot as it gets, will that seal it? Or should I clearcoat it? Any suggestions on a DIY clearcoat (brand, prep process, etc)? Or should I look up a painter buddy of mine and see if he can spray it for me? |

I used some NAPA engine temp clear coat on my muffler a couple weeks ago. Sanded with 400 grit and sprayed a few coats. So far it looks great but has minimal miles on it. I'll take a closer look at it tonight. |
