Magnetti Marrelli has to have something that can be packaged in an affordable bracket. The RX I hope would at least have a simple TC system to keep people from bemoaning its lack thereof. |

The electronics on the 1125r are MM, and honestly, they suck. That cluster is really unreliable, and I bet I go through a half-dozen of them a year. I've replaced 4 of them so far this year alone. |

Jim, what type of failures are you getting? I'm aware of the ignition switch wiring issue but this is the first I've heard of other failures. The '08 had the battery draining issue, but outright failures? |

Typical failures are the tach needle falling off and the LCD portion of the cluster flickering out. |

Crazy! Mine has been good for nearly 20k miles and a slew of track days. |

I had one last 3+ years. I've had them not last 3 races. |

Jim, I had an LCD failure on my 09 cluster and was able to fix it. Mine was a problem with the LCD pins being directly in the center of the contact holes on the PCB and not making any contact at all. A simple tweak to the side and it hasn't been a problem since. |

That surprises me because I think it was.designed for snowmobiles and I would think those conditions would be more harsh then street or race. |

Who knows. I will say my equipment is subjected to some pretty difficult treatment: very, very bumpy tracks ridden as hard as I can ride them. I get all kinds of odd failures on these bikes from vibrations and wear and tear. |

JD - have you looked into these?: http://racetechelectric.com/i-8376891-koso-db-01r- universal-motorcycle-computer.html ...claim they are designed for dirt/enduro riding |

Neat! How would I get codes, diag mode, etc? Keep a stock cluster around and plug it in when needed? I also notice the bike will run fine without a cluster, but the fuel pump will never shut off... I figured that out when I thought about going down this road once before. |

looking farther into that site....every thing is "not available" except for the $300+ units: http://racetechelectric.com/i-8554129-koso-gp-styl e-speedometer-rx-2.html stock cluster = 1125r diag reader - just like you have to have to work on cars (since the '80s) (SWAG) with all the relays this bike has ...you should be able to find the fuel pump circuit relay and add it to a switch best of luck |
