Chaz Davies did a pretty convincing impression of Jorge Lorenzo, I must say... |

Chaz Davies is a class act and it is about time he has the opportunity to be recognised as a top level rider. He regularly beat Casey Stoner back in 125 Superteen racing where they both began their road racing careers, and it has been a lack of competitive machinery rather than lack of talent that has held him back so far (if you can call being a World Supersprot Champions and Daytona 200 winner held back!). He really should be in MotoGP right now and probably would be if he had a different passport. As it is he has now found himself in a great team that he can show his full potential with. I'll bet Melandri isn't to impressed now that he has a properly competitive team mate that won't take any sh*t from him Marco certainly didn't look too happy this weekend Gotta feel sorry for Sam Lowes in WSS though. He looked like a nailed on winner until the last lap when his machine failed on him |

Also (not entirely related to WSBK of course, but close enough)..... Congratulations to PJ Jacobsen on his decent results at BSB Thruxton this weekend. 9th and 11th may not seem great results, but the weather was awful, qualifying was cancelled, races disrupted by numerous crashes and safety car periods, and Thruxton is a very scary fast track for a rider that has never raced there before on a Superbike Good results and beat some very experienced BSB regulars too Well done lad, keep it up and you will be in WSBK next year I'll bet |

Matt, you know I'm no fan of "The Moaner" but the fact is that Casey DID win races in MotoGP on uncompetitive machinery... |

Firstbuell, and please note the posting from Trojan that prompted that response. It's two postings above mine. |

I was waiting for the punchline when we had an Englishman, a Welshman and an Irishman on the front row but wasn't expecting two of them to pull out with mechanical problems. It's a shame for Eugene Laverty because he looked fast all weekend but great news for Chaz. I've not heard a bad word said against him and he has massive experience in many many classes. He's even mates with Casey Stoner........! |

uncompetitive machinery... Without wishing to totally hijack the thread away from WSB, You can't really say that Stoner was riding uncompetitive machines during his time in MotoGP. His first championship for Ducati was on a much better machine that either Yamaha or Honda produced that year (and with better tyres). His second was on the Honda, acknowledged to be the best MotoGP machine of the year. Ducati became less competitive over the years maybe because Stoner was the only one who could ride it and he/they sat on their laurels and never developed it for other riders/styles. By the time he left Ducati it was pretty much a pile of poo in comparison to the rest of the MotoGP class, and neither he nor Hayden won on it Chaz Davies has been less lucky in his career and has truly had some uncompetitive machines in both WSS (Triumph 675) and 250 GP on a privateer Aprilia (although has produced verygood results on them considering). However class will eventually shine through and then he has had competitive bikes he shown that he is world class. At last he has the opportunity to show the GP world what it missed out on |

Marco is definitely NOT off to a good start this year. Race 2 was VERY exciting. |

just because reporters jump on the van wagon and say one brand is the better bike its not a reason that the bike will win. I think Rossi lovers would agree with that when he moved to Yamaha. with supposevly Honda was the best bike! |

I actually thought both races were great. Even though Sykes checked out,the battle for podium spots were awesome. |

I KNOW I shouldn't feed the troll but... you ARE aware of who won the first two races of the year, right?? Or rather, what he was riding?? Nah, never mind. I keep forgetting you live in an alternate reality. |

having no luck in AMA or WSBK Chaz Davies had to have a complete new bike built after he comprehensively and literally smashed his to pieces in the warm up (snapped the main frame!). Spare bikes are not allowed in WSBK any longer so it really is a case of building a bike from scratch. The started from the back of the grid for race one and still managed to finish 7th and 5th in race two. I would call that a decent result considering the problems he had all weekend. Melandri had a mechanical failure right before the start of race one, and obviously suffered some kind of electronics failure or malfunction in race two that made his bike run on into corners under braking. I don't think this result will be indicative of their season somehow. Chaz Davies is still second in the championship after all (level on points with Sykes & Laverty). AMA is a different matter, and probably due to the different rule structure and what they are allowed to do to the bikes. It took a couple of years to get the S1000RR even near competitive in BSB too but it is now getting very close to the front runners. |

beIN has been televising them LIVE, so best bet is to go to the WSBK site and see when/where the next race is being held and figure out the time difference. |

There is a big gap in the beIN schedule for Sunday morning, listed on Verizon as "To Be Announced." That seems to be around the same time they broadcast the races from Europe... Wonder why it isn't listed yet?? |

That gap is STILL listed as "TBA." Wonder what the problem is?? When I go to the beIN TV website, it shows "FIM Superstock" motorcycle racing, but I don't see a listing for Superbikes? http://www.beinsport.tv/tv-guide |
