anyone ever toy with the idea of doing a custom center mounted radiator, like whats available on the ducait monster s4rs? |

The radiators on the 1190 are center mounted. I guess if you had the money and a good enough fabricator.... |

I just wish EBR would announce their next range of bikes - who knows what upgrades may be possible ... |

Check the EBR forum. It looks like the RS/EX/AX? are going to be streetbike/naked/adventure tourer. We'll find out in October for sure, though. |

Second gen reverse flow rad ducting is underway (after my crash of 2011) and this time around a Ducati Panigale lower rad is also being added. I had read on here that the ecm starts detuning things once coolant temp rises more than ten degrees above thermostat opening. If this thread is still accessible I will post some pictures once I get a little further along. |

Dennon, Please show us the work you get done with that front rad. I really want to do this as I mount the side fairings on my CR. |

This is my favorite answer to your question...custom radiator mounted between custom girder forks. Theoretically, I don't see why you couldn't mod a CR like this. Radiator mounted up high on the forks, and some kind of HID headlight kit. Maybe under the radiator. Magpul Ronin http://www.magpulheavy.com/aboutronin.html

Jaredc01, you are correct. I love motorcycles. -but- I don't understand much of modern art's appeal. When someone makes a piece of 'art' with a motorcycle (I'm talking to you, Magpul and Confederate) with a base price in the $40K-$60K range, it makes me nauseous. I understand concept bikes to show off your ideas and just how awesome your design engineers are, but...jesus, man. Be an artist instead of a manufacturer if you want to invoke emotional response. I'm done holding forth |

I think that Ronin is awsome. Looks like a Tractor humped a Buell...LOL. |

The Magpul is just a one-off to show how kewwwwl Magpul is. I like it, but it's just art. I thought the radiator mounting was relevant to the discussion.... Also, it's no uglier than our stock exhausts. But on further examination and another beer, I think if you tried it with telescopic forks, the tire/fender would end up bashing into the bottom of the radiator...thus the girder front end. |

That is the Ronin prototype. The Magpul Ronin has gone through some changes since then and is going into production this year with a limited run of 47 motorcycles with a price tag of about $38K. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbyWJVqcO8g http://roninmotorworks.com/ |

That is ugly, I cannot believe they will sell 4 much less 47. What kind of performance can it have with that rigid fork? |

Not a ridged fork:

So less than one centimeter of travel? |

99mm is 9.9cm not 1cm |

In my opinion, you have to look at bikes like that as statement pieces. They are cool street bikes; they are not meant to be race bikes or high performance machines. |

That's funny, to convert metric to english I always end up sanity checking myself with calibers. 10mm is a little under a .45, so 20mm is probably about an inch. And I remember 2.45 cm per inch. For what that's worth. |

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................................and back to the original topic. Has anybody tried a Duc Monster's radiator yet? Would it fit under flexiglass? Obviously if a front mount radiator and pullers were fitted the inner pods and fans could be removed for clearance. It would be awesome. |

Not sure if I understand what is being considered here. A rad mounted in the conventional position of up behind the front wheel will not fit because there is not enough clearance between the front wheel (suspension compressed) and the front exhaust pipe. |

Dennon, you're right. The Duc Monster radiator wouldn't be possible as I took a closer look at the clearance today. Anyways, keep us updated. |

AFAIK EBR spent a BUNCH of $$ for a guy in England to make the radiators for the 1190. Sure slimmed up the Rotax bike tho... I want them for Loretta... for free. I really can't explain what this bike means to me... Z <edit> I've seen 2 or 3 of the Ronin bikes. the straight 2-2 exhaust from Free Spirits sounds like ass. Dean Adams 2-1-2 system is on the other end of the spectrum. They told me of cooling issues but none in a weekday(fast) mountain run. (Message edited by zac4mac on July 06, 2013) |

Here's the definative anser to that question- http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/717290.html?1374244781 NVBUELL- Thought I would share this with the group. Something worth following, if any of you are intersted. Emailed Buell-parts.com about the Typhon and subsequent upgrades and got this response from Jens at NCCR. "Norbert from buell-parts.com forwarded your message about the Typhon parts. I am the original man behind the Typhon project. The actual radiator solution we use on that bikes is much too expensive because it is based on the spanish Taledo (GP supplier) pods EBR let make there for the 1190R. We started a budget version of the conversion last winter but could not finish it before the season started here in Sweden and now we are too busy to finish it. As we already got 2 Typhon conversion orders for next winter, we are planning to continue the development of the radiator kit in October and hope (again…) to have it available around end of this year. The target price of the radiator kit is app. 2500 Euro and will enclose, 2 x radiators, 1 x oilcooler, expansiontank, mounting hardware, sidecovers and bellypan in fiberglas. Regarding the exhaust, the projects use the very expensive EBR race exhaust, we might come up with a own solution over winter, but that’s behind the radiators scheduled. If you have further questions, I will try to answer it. Thanks for your request and best regards" Jens Jens Krüper |
