Has anyone on here had experience with these cases, they seem pretty good for the money, 45L, $145.00 each, the givi racks are similar priced to the hepco becker racks. |

I'm very happy with the E45's. Mine have put up with a fair bit of abuse: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=2274252#POST2274252 The Givi universal monokey toplate secures to the Fehling rear rack (I ended up getting the identical, slightly less expensive Kappa version) : http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-e250-monokey-universal-adapter-plate The "economy" cases are the same as the regular cases, only without the stick on pinstripes and the elastic retention belts on the inside. Which I took out of my E45 top case, anyhow http://www.sporttour.com in PA sells them for $148 each, free shipping. (Message edited by dtaylor on May 29, 2013) |

Try twisted throttle. I just ordered side and top racks from them that are specific to Givi/Kappa cases. |

The universal Givi monkey plate is E250. The identical Kappa monokey plate is K609. Either can be had for $50 to $60 on eBay, by the looks of it. The clamps aren't too pretty, but they're out of sight, and they seem to hold it all together: Worm's eye view:

Hey Cobra Rookie, Did you order direct from Twisted Throttle? If you plan on ordering more stuff from them, check out http://aviciouscycle.ca/ -- I order my TT stuff through them. They are local to me, but you might find they will order it and ship it to you for less, even with taxes factored in. cheers, Doug |

No, I ordered from aviciouscycle, just mentioned twisted throttle because the poster was from the US. Dropped about $1K on racks and cases. |

Does the top rack and side racks join together? Id like to fit the top rack first and then shortly after add the side racks but id rather not undo the top rack to bolt on the side racks if you get what I mean. I.e. can the top rack be used stand alone unlike the factory hepco becker top rack. |

The Fehling toprack can be installed on its own, yes. |

My fehling side racks for the givi cases arrived, there are no instructions apart from a german packing list, does anyone on here that own these racks have instructions or can post details photos. I'm going to contact fehling but all I have right now are photos found on the internet. If someone has these racks please post details pics of the spacers, relocation bracket, under the seat. Update-I found the installation instructions on twisted throttle, totally useless. http://static.twisted-throttle.net/media/files/FHG .7138KH.buell.ulysses.xb12x.sidecarrier.givi.sidec ases.pdf |

Check out this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/disc us.cgi?pg=prev&topic=142838&page=344155 Also in that thread, Bob Sims' post has some links to very good quality pics of his Fehlings. I referred to them when installing my racks. As others have noted, double check that the bolts supplied are the correct thread (ie: imperial, not metric), and be very careful not to cross thread or over torque. Blue loctite is your friend. I recall those hard little rubber bumpers for the side racks being difficult to install. I think I softened them in hot water first, and maybe even gently malformed the pointy bits a bit with pliers in order to pop them in. I did not use the signal relocation brackets, and left the signal lights as they were. No issues with clearance or visibility with the E45s or the E21s. I am speaking here about the stock racks now, so correct me if I am wrong. The top rack must not be used without the side racks installed as that is where the support comes from. Not sure about the fehling racks Druelly |

The fehling racks can be used with just the top case or the side cases. I have installed the sideracks. My 3 e45 cases came this evening. I am struggling to mount the cases to the racks. I slid the case onto the 2 bottom notches and then tried to press the locking area against the triangles but it wont click in. If I do not slide the cases onto the 2 notches and just press the locking area on the triangle piece it clicks right in. I have no idea what is wrong but surely it has to be really simple. |

Double check the triangle wedge things on the racks. I flipped them the wrong way during assembly, and wondered why the bags wouldn't latch. Even with the wedges oriented correctly, My E21's require significant pressure to get them to lock in. (Message edited by dtaylor on June 12, 2013) (Message edited by dtaylor on June 12, 2013) |

It was the alignment of the triangle wedges, I loosed the bolts at the rear, fitted the side cases and then tightened the nuts so the wedges were aligned. I'm now awaiting the top rack from twisted throttle at the end of the month, I hope it arrives in time for my trip. The e45 cases are nice, I going to have to find bags that fit in the cases so all my gear doesn't fall out. Thanks again for the pics as the german instructions are terrible. |

Good day everyone. Uly noob and had a question on the Givi E251 adapter plate. Does the plate require any reinforcement? Is the top case max carry weight 25lbs including the case? Thx |
