He can't find any HD dealers because of no internet, the ones I called said 7 to 10 days! If anyone has any ideasa or an extra belt please call me at work Thursday, 513-three nine eight-1532 ot at home untill 10pm est. at same area code nine three two 5151. His bike is a 2009 ULY XB12XT. The Buell part # is G05001AKG Thanks, Dave |

I have a used spare from a 2007 XB12X I can loan you, currently in Lebanon Ohio, if that would fit... but I would hope you can find a better option than that. |

Where is he at in Newfoundland? We've got a badwebber up there, but it's a big ass island... Shot him a message to look for this post and see if there's any help available- doubt a belt will be found on the island, but we've got friends there. Newfoundland in an awesome place- very special in my heart. Prior |

Also- no harley dealers in Newfoundland- nearest is in Nova Scotia. Parts will have to be sent in. Our badwebber is in St. Johns, on the east side, but knows folks all over there- we'll get your friend taken care of. Newfie_buell I think was his username- Reep will figure that part out. |

Newfie_buell is it, his number is on the BRAN... His note says there is a retailer close, and Mount Pearl Harley is just west of St. Johns- only place on the island and I know they're not a Buell dealer- but maybe can get a belt. |

I have tools and place to fix. Mile One Harley Davidson is close. 709-364-9051 is their number. Other than that overnight a belt to my place and we can get him going again. (Message edited by Newfie_buell on June 20, 2013) |

I just sent the owner of the dealership an email asking about the part. It's 5:41 am here and won't have an answer until about 9:00 am. Find out what part of the island he is on as its huge. Can take up to 12 hours to go from one end to the other. On another note, the ice bergs have landed and the whales are plentiful off the north eastern coast. |

Ooopps, missed the Uly part, here is what should be needed if you don't find another source. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17176.html |

Great to hear from you again Newfie! Looks like my belt will fit. Better to get new if you can, mine came off a 20k+ mile Ulysses with unknown handling history during tire changes (bought it used). And since then it has sat rolled up in a side bag every day and everywhere I go. But if I'm your only option, then we can figure it out. |

OK the good news is the owner of Mile One Harley Davidson got back to me. They can overnight a belt to the island. I copied and pasted his email I see that belt as G0500.1AAH, drive belt for 2009 xb12xt None here I can have it tomorrow, 267.95 plus tax. No one has called me yet and I PM'd my number to Dbr0051. Still don't know where this stranded Buell is on the island either. My guess is get the bike back to St. John's, fix and get him on his way. |

THAT IS THE WRONG BELT! IT WILL NOT FIT! He needs G0500.1AKB or one of its superseded versions 1AKD, 1AKE, or 1AKF |

Anyway, After speaking to the rider he has sourced a belt through Privateers HD in Nova Scotia which is where he is stranded. Apparently he was on his way here but snapped the belt on the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and not Newfoundland. We are a considerable distance away including a 6-8hr boat ride. Don't think he is going to make it this far now but I know he is missing a hell of a season for Ice Bergs and Whales. Not to mention the 'Screech'. |

For future reference: IIRC a Sportster belt will fit a Uly, TT, Lightening Long, and "tubers". |

Hmm. Is the sportster part the same part? Or does it just fit? |

It fits, but not even close to the same part, the sportster belt will disintegrate after a few miles because they are not designed to flex backwards over the idler pulley. There have been some that tried. |

Also, I tried my spare XB12X belt on my X1 in an emergency and it wasn't even close. Very much too long. Stock sportster belt is the same as a tuber belt at least in terms of pitch, width and length. I doubt the sporster belt would fir a uly. Perhaps if you take the idler off? |
