I just ordered some stuff for getting the bike back up to riding shape for the year, and since my bike is an 08 model I'm looking at taking care of the rotor nut as well... I've just ordered some Loctite 272 for the project, though I don't have a crankshaft locking tool, and the 300 ft-lb torque wrench is a maybe right now (good possibility, but still a maybe until I find out for sure). Is there anyone that can confirm that I DO need the crankshaft locking tool for tightening the nut, and if so is there anyone that would be willing to loan me one that has one? Thanks in advance! |

Yep, otherwise there is nothing to stop lock the cam in place and the rotor will spin |

Thanks for the confirmation... Now to find someone that will lend / rent me theirs. No point in paying $50 for a one-time-use item if I can help it. If anyone has a locking tool they're not using for the next week or two, please send me a PM if you're willing to lend or rent it to me... I'll pay shipping both ways!
