Some things I'd check are:
1. First of all verify there are no leaks at the intake manifold by spraying propane at the area where the manifold meets the heads and where the carb fits onto the manifold,
2. spark plug gap 0.038 - 0.045,
3. if using stock spark plug wires, go with Screaming Eagle type - they have less resistance for a (potentially) hotter spark,
4. if using stock ignition coil, consider the Screaming Eagle one,
5. inspect carefully whether the accelerator pump sprays all the time when opening throttle. If not then check for dirty cables/linkages operating pump. If that's OK then check condition of pump slider itself for cracking etc,
6. note where accelerator pump sprays, if the stream doesn't hit just below the center of the butterfly, gently aim the outlet tube so that it does.

Thanks sparky,I'm running new plugs gapped to 40,new accelerate wires.I think I'll go into carb again as first time was a bit rushed & double check intake.

Use new gaskets with SYLGLYDE on them. Also double check the carb because even if you are a pro everyone misses something now and then. Take your time and keep the manual close. Oh and make sure the exhaust gaskets are good and tight. This can cause some of that. You did specify intake or exhaust.

Carb cough.I'm waiting for intake gaskets to show up.my front plug is slightly rich & rear on the lean side,so I think gaskets are in order.I'll clean carb while its off and should be able to tune better when done.I'm running a supertrapp so I can tune with that as well once done.thanks
