The 1st Annual All Harley Drags was this last weekend at the Samoa Drag Strip here in Eureka, Ca. $1000 was being awarded to the winner of each class; street, import, pro stock, and nitro. $400 went to the runner ups. There wasn't that great of a turnout, only 12 bikes in the street class, but it was a ton of fun. This was my first experience with drag racing for money and bracket racing. My best time was an 11.3. I am a total novice, there was a lot of room for improvement. I had heard of skilled drag racers doing low 10s. Here are all my slips for the 4 elimination rounds. I was the fastest in the class all weekend, but my reaction times and 60ft times were not. The 2nd race was against a bagger and the last 2 races were against 103in Dynas. If I would have shifted right before the finish line, like I was doing all day, I may have won. I took it to the rev limiter instead because I thought I wasn't going to catch the guy. You can hear me bouncing off the limiter in this video. http://youtu.be/FAPdeweijdk I took 2nd place for $400, which was awesome, but damn it's hard to lose by hundredths!
