Hey everyone, sorry to be a cross-posting , trying to get visibility. On May 27th my white 2003 XB9R was stolen in Los Angeles by 2 men in a pickup truck with extended cab, using a trolley to move the bike with the lock on.
There's damage to both sides as they dropped it during a failed 1st attempt the night before that I thought was just a hit and run.
I'm watching BuellXB, Badweb, Craigslist and Ebay for the parts, but I'd greatly appreciate if anyone kept an eye out. I think my levers showed up on CL yesterday in Norwalk, but according to the detective I can't prove anything's mine if they don't have serial numbers. VIN 4MZAX57J533420153 License 16S7035 EBR race pegs Black ASV shorty levers with red adjustment wheel Quick release seat Roadmaster tires Axle sliders Frame pucks K&N Air Filter Upgraded to 2004 model's pulley/belt system and oil lines Tank cover has EBR decal, which will appear as a shadow if they remove it, unless they do some serious heavy duty polishing Left mirror snapped off, right mirror has scratches, right grip is tore, right handle plug missing, rear axle sliders scratched, all pegs scratched, foot brake lever scratched. Hit me up at GenaFM@gmail.com if you see anything! (Message edited by riderfm on May 29, 2013) |

Very much appreciated guys. I'm hoping these guys were just idiots who will soon realize Buell owners are a pretty tight knit community and the parts will be hard to unload without being recognized at some point, and just ditch the bike somewhere. I'll update if anything comes of it. |

Sadly not theft. The good news is I called the police on Sunday when I thought the damage was a hit and run, which I am insured for. When I called to cancel my policy after the theft I was told that surprisingly I'm owed for the damage to the bike, even though I can't prove what was damaged now. Might be able to have the insurance company total a bike that I don't have anymore, but it's a long shot. |
