>>>also, he may have exaggerated a little (I know that's true, in any event) Not unrelated to why my writing was dubbed, in 1994, "Gonzo-journalism". But, even I have been amazed at how the years have developed my friends and riding partners in such a way as to allow my imagination to return to it's entropic state of cerebral dormancy. To loosely quote Erik Buell when asked "is this stuff Court say's true?"...."just when you think he's full of shit, it turns out he's right". Again, I've been largely releived from having to embellish anything having made acquaintances like Peter, Grizzly, Paul and Ross. Americans are dull. My life changed after meeting Europeans. Meeting Newfie proved that crazy people need not cross oceans. Henrik and Grizzly are both basically closet traffic felons and I am no better person than them having plyed my keen sense of the language to free them, if only barely, from the grips of the Larimer County Sheriff. Henrik is guilty! What was the charge again? Court edited by court on October 22, 2003 |

Father Dave -- spot on, as usual . .. I had an opportunity to spend part of an evening with the man when he came to Southern Illinois U (my first stop after returning from my post-graduate studies as a Macnamara Scholar) . . . we had wild turkey, illeagal smiles, and microdot all lined up for the man . . .. all he availed himself of was a couple of beers and a shot . . . after returning him to the airport, accomplises, er, colleagues and I determined that it was wise to dispose of the contraband, lest it be discoverd . . . . a good time was had by all . . . but, asyou say, "it COULDA . . . . ." Court -- a gentle reminder that that being truthful and being right are not the same thing at all (chuckle) |

Being truthful and being right are both way over-rated. Virtue is its own punishment! r-t |

"Closet" traffic felons would not be greeted by multiple units of Larimer Counties Finest. They're the REAL deal. Point of note: When caught breaking traffic laws in a foreign country, keep your passport or an actual driver's license handy. If you have Court's number memorized, please disregard. Was it Susan Wilson that was hollering from the house something akin to "The county sheriff is on the phone, he needs to talk to Aaron or Court NOW! They have Grizzly and Henrik..."? Court had stepped out of a rental car just moments before the call. Welcome to Colorado, Mr. Canfield! |

Actually, I had been driving the rental car, and was about 10 minutes south of the Wilsonosa when I saw a faint headlight appear in the rear view mirror. It closed "briskly". The road was straight as a string for a couple miles with a long down grade followed by a gradual uphillamous. Briskly? Did I say briskly? It closed at the rate of a WFO Hayabusa which is akin to saying "no, I really didn't have time to determine the color. All I can say is that something passed me". First one to grow up looses. By the way, fool not your aging self. I am hard at work on our next foray in Elfplomacy. |
