I just picked up some 'left-over parts' from a dude that killed a M2 to build a hard-tail. (it was too late to save it, but I got a deal on the parts anyway) The seat had been outside at least a month. What's the best way to get it black again without making it slippery? Thx

New leather or vinyl

Now I know this seems like a smart ass answer, but the truth is that some damage won't clean up and recovering most buell seats is fairly straightforward

If it is vinyl, you can use bleach.

+1 to Jeff73...of course that doesn't really solve the immediate problem...send it off to Baldwin saddles and have a custom seat pad made for it and cover it in leather...that guy makes a fantastic seat!! I had one made for my S3T and its outstanding!.....expensive..and he makes one at a time so it takes some time...but worth it!

I saw Corbin had a saddle available while getting a solo seat for my Sportster yesterday.

For a cheap solution you could get some RIT fabric dye, remove the vinyl and soak it in the dye solution and it will blacken up some, just let it dry and buff it well after reinstalling to get the black residue off-or wear black pants

you might check with a local western wear store or leather shop. i took a multi colored sportbike jacket that was old and worn to my local shop and they died it completely black and buffed it to give it a matt black finish. cost me 50 and was well worth it.

I found a bottle of black leather dye in my garage the other day ( works wonders on fingerboards in stringed instruments ; ) Gonna try to stain the vinyl again. Thx for the reminder Cmfk73
