I think I had decided to put wheelie bars on my 8" over swingarm. What I am looking for is advice on mounts and any other items to assist with this effort. One of the pictures I attached shows a shock which I am no longer running for weight reasons. Thanks

there are mounts that bolt onto a standard arm like that. I HAD a set, I dont know if I still have them in the garage, they wouldnt work with the aluminum arm that was on my S3 from the factory. Or you can buy the OTHER kind of mounts that you weld on. http://pingelonline.com/wheelie_bar_mounts.htm I have a set of pingel bars in the shed, not being used. Not sure how long you need them to be, but mine are over 6' long, PM me if interested. Fresh powdercoating on them |

That is a good looking swingarm I can send you pictures of the brackets you need. Last I was told by pingel is they would not sell just the brackets you have to buy the whole wheelie bar kit. Things may have changed since then. I have the pingel wheelie bar kit that came off my X1 I would sell if your interested. You may be looking for something a little longer than the standard length though. You have my number if your interested. |

Finally, a drag bike with a proper tire. |

Interesting that you would call a flat slick a proper tire. To me any tire that prevents spin is a proper tire. Now that I am launching properly I need neither a slick or wheelie bars. I have won one of three races and look forward to the divisionals this weekend. Hope the rest of my air shifter parts arrive before Thursday. |

As far as I can recall, this is the first picture of a drag bike on here with a drag slick. Congrats on the wins. Out of curiosity, what ET and MPH does it run? 60ft? Old school air shifter with a pneumatic kill valve? If so, pay close attention to line lenghts and go to the welding supply and get a set of torch cleaner drill bits to adjust the kill time. And a soldering iron to fill the hole and start over if you overdrill it. Or maybe something electronic from MPS? Dan Ruud was the bleeding edge in ET racing for years. I haven't made a pass now in almost 8 years so my info is dated. I had to quit because of how high the cost got in time and money. The bullet to the head was when my local track went to street bike only racing, no bar, no electronics, no slicks, making the long drive to Gainesville or Bradenton simply too much for weekend fun. When ProStar shut down, I sold my whole operation to a street racer in Columbus Georgia. A big tire 1425 bike that would run high 7's unleashed on a good track , and a small tire 1075 early ProStock replica that ran mid 8's along with two spare engines a 125 pound cylinder full of nitrous, 12 spare bottles, fill station, trailer with AC and generator and a pickup truck full of assorted spares. |

Fast - while I understand your point, I also don't think that all dragbikes NEED a slick Personally, I own, and have a MT mounted on a spare buell tuber wheel, but with a stock motor it'd not be a benefit to me, don't have the power to really over-power my Racetec K2 Metzler Now, when youre getting the times you used to go, sure, most definitely, a slick is it. But right now, I just am not needing it. |

If you're looking to shave easy weight, and even rotating mass, swap someone those PM wheels for the cast wheels. |

If you don't have a lot of power the slick will actually hurt the MPH in the end. However you will have a better 60 foot, but if you don't have a lot of power the slick can slow you down, especially on the 1/4 mile. As usual it's always a balance.... |

Well I raced the div 7 double header and a bike race Friday night. Ran a 11.44 at 115 mph on Thursday qualifying which was my best et and mph yet. Major problems with my reaction time which is perplexing as I always do well. 60' averages in the low 1.70's. I got my electric over air shifter on and love it. Turned the launch up to 5500 with no issues. Tied for fourth after two divisionals and in third for track points. Having tons of fun! |
