Just bought No. 1285. As soon as weather allows, I have to book a fly-n-ride to New Mexico and back to the Alaska ferry in Bellingham, WA. Here's some pics of the new one: https://picasaweb.google.com/107140604435872032200 /1995S2?authkey=Gv1sRgCMmctb6Y_IiegQE She needs some disassembly and cleaning up. Already scored a CF hugger and on the hunt now for a CF air cleaner. Maybe start hunting saddlebags once she's reassembled. Love these old tubers, such character. Bought an S3T out of Colorado last fall and got to spend a week riding her home. Good clean fun. |

Glenn, I gotta know, what the heck do you do with two Buells in Ketchikan? or have they added a bunch of roads since I was last there? Great looking bikes though. let me know when you are headed up to B'ham, I am in Tumwater, have a spare room, garage, tools. Shane |

I have a stock CF air cleaner cover, I'm also in NM. Where are you flying in to? If you need a hand with anything PM me, I have a spare room, and a decent garage if you need anything... |

Thanks guys. Shane, for better or worse, the S2 makes four Buells in KTN and I ride them as much as I can - back and forth and back and forth and . . . we've got 40 miles or so. And Prince Rupert's only six hours away on the ferry. I'll check in as the trip firms up but the 3/22 ferry out of B'ham looks likely. Thanks, Eric. I'd like to see that S2, the Sporty and that R65. The wife and I are talking about a "wandering" vacation this summer that would include some Vancouver time. And Bart, I'm flying into Albuquerque and then riding Greyhound (only $25 and it feels like a Bob Dylan song) to Grants, NM. Looks like I'll be flying in on 3/16 or so. And that CF cleaner, is it spare and for sale, or is it on your bike? (if it's on your bike, just let me know where your bike is parked.) |

$25 isn't bad for a bus ride, it's usually about a 2 hour drive to Grants. If you need a ride from the airport to the bus station let me know, I'm available during the day. (work nights). The air cleaner is a spare, and it's for sale, I had it posted here, then it went on eBay, I guess $100 is too much for a brand new stock S2 air cleaner cover? |

Glenn, I think you need to build a Buell powered skiff. |

Give a shout when you're in the 'hood, Glen. I see you've a couple of airheads in the stable too. |

Rode No. 1285 from Albuquerque to the Alaska Ferry Terminal - reached home last Sunday. A great 2700 mile week. Bike needs some love but it's a stout runner. The usual Buell fun on the trip - parts repeatedly vibrating off, a nasty broken weld on the muffler inlet pipe (that weld break tried to eject the muffler at speed and kill me), and one press-into-a-nasty-headwind-for-hours-and-run-out- of-gas-in-the-loneliest-desert-you-ever-saw episode. All great fun and good stories. Met up with Bart in ABQ and Shane in Olympia - great guys both. Now I've begun the disassembly, clean, repair, replace treatment on the bike. Bought a full set of original deep/shallow hard bags that need paint, scored new fairing bags and wire supports, trip odo reset knob/cable, etc. from Vintage Parts. Glad to have her home. Keeping an eye peeled in hopes to locate the certificate and timing cover for 1285. Prolly a goner, but oh well. |

hey Glen! Good to hear you made it home safe and sane. That was fun to sit and shoot the bike talk with you at the pub. You have some great memories from that ride now. Shane |
