How is the ride at freeway speeds? I rode my friend's F800GS w/TKC80s and it had some wander while at high speed. Not sure if it was his bike or the tires. |

Harleywern, I have to admit, that does look pretty nice. Looks like you keep your bike in good shape too. |

I have TCK 80 rear and Karoo 2 traveller front. Riding fast on highway makes odd feelings like front is loose or something. I noticed this was only happening when there are lenghtwise grooves on pavement, so i just thought it's nothing to worry. These tires are best on gravel http://postimg.org/image/ih57k673d/ (Message edited by jamba on May 06, 2013) |

I have not tested highway speed so far. 100 KM/H (60 miles) was all I rode at the moment. Today I have to go to TÜV inspection for official approval. Will report how this tire is at max. speed.

I have been running TKCs for a while now. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/579821.html I think this is my second rear. I have been running GS size rear TKCs (The 180s were not out yet), so they are a little flat seeing as I have to open them up a little to fit on the wider Uly wheel. For the front I use Pirelli MT60. Great front tire Really sticks even in the rain. I never worry about the front loosing grip. The rear can get really slippery when wet. I regularly have the rear slip-out when going over crosswalk markings on the pavement during a wetday. This has me a little worried about using a TKC as a front. With my current setup, I often drag the pegs without worry (highway off-ramp). Not sure about the front TKC being able to handle bringing it that low? What do you think? |

Those look awesome! I'll probably stick with more streetable tires, but those really make the Uly look like an ADVENTURE bike to say the least! |

I like mine, but I ride more dirt/gravel than pavement.

Those do look beastly! I too will stick to street tires for my riding, but I can see where those will really get it in the dirt. |

Matt, how did you "pop" tire to wheel? I tried once 160 wide, but i couldn't get it to it's place untill i gave up and used tube. |

Jamba, This ifrst time I did this it was in preparation for my Trans-Lab trip. I used this to remove the tire from the wheel: http://www.bestrestproducts.com/c-98-beadbrakr.asp x Then I used this to set the TKC tire bead on the wheel: http://www.bestrestproducts.com/c-154-beadsetr.asp x I did this by hand to make sure I could do it in the field. Then next set I just had the dealer do it. They didn't have any issues. |

I see in the pics that you have wrapped your header pipes. What material did you use and I have been told you need to soak the wrap in water before installing. Did you do it wet? Any problems? I would like to wrap mine for several reasons... |

Xr1200xb12, use the DEI Titanium wrap. No need to soak it and you don't have to worry about covering your skin.
