Author Message   Purpony Posted on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 12:38 pm:        need to replace the battery on my X1 and when doing so I am wanting to relocate it with the smallest battery as possible. I would love to go with something like the Ballistic 8 cell EVO, but its only 4.6 Ah / 240 CCA. They recommend their 12 cell minimum for the Buell @ 6.4 Ah / 360 CCA. Another battery i found and would fit perfect (but SUPER expensive) is rated at 250 CCA, and 6 Ah !! Im guessing the higher the CCA and Ah the better... but what is the minimum that i could get away with?? As of right now I found a battery im going with. its 6.6Ah and 330CA... I guess the Ah of lithium is rated differently then a standard battery. We will see how it works.   Jdcolcol Posted on Sunday, March 24, 2013 - 12:43 pm:        A few months back I got a 260cca 6A for my 2000 X1 because it was cheaper and available. On a full charge it would start up but sounded like it was dead. I recently replaced it with the OEM. work great. My bike is a serial battery killer though always has been.   Harleyelf Posted on Sunday, March 24, 2013 - 12:52 pm:        Check your stator. Mine had poorly repaired pinched wires in its harness from the factory. Check for shorts and static resistance and disconnect the harness, stretch it out full length, and feel for lumps.
