I picked up an 05 Blast for my girlfriend's first bike. I've ridden several Blasts in the past (and have been a Buell guy since 05...XB9, Ulysses), but this little guy has a handling quirk I, and my mechanic, can't figure out. Most noticeable at slower speeds, there is a "shimmy" as you start to straighten up at the end of a Turn. The tires are new (oem), no evidence of steering head bearing or other issues of the steering head. Any ideas out there? I don't want to have to worry about anything other than just my girlfriend being a new rider. |

Check the front & rear motor mount, tire pressure, and rear wheel bearings. |

If the tires are not Pirelli - replace them asap - the Dunlops will kill you - they suck in handling that bad. Also make sure your air preasure is no more than 32psi. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on March 13, 2013) |

definitely the Dunlops. They need to be replace ASAP, you will be amazed at how well the bike handles with ANY other tire on it. |

I agree on the Dunlops, I ran them for a while and noticed that I had to rude more dirt track style to feel comfortable. |

Consider adding a fork brace... Superbrace makes a nice piece and it will help with the stability. |

I'm also starting to get a strange , uneasy wobble... Im thinking maybe my rear tire is getting a little flat in the center , or maybe my swing arm is loose... im going to start looking into it a little later today. |
