On the way to work today my XB12 started stumbling as I was accelerating then it started bucking. This seems to only happen when accelerating. 20,000 miles on a completely stock '07 STT. Any ideas where to start looking? | ||

Do you have a battery tender? The ECU will hiccup if you're voltage is off... | ||

I know it's a cliche but check your grounds. Often dumb stuff makes spooky errors. | ||

ok...on the way back I notice that it's making a meyoo meyoo meyoo sound from the airbox and it's constant when the stumbling is happening. This is a long shot...but could that noise be the motor that opens and closes the exhaust router in the muffler? (Message edited by Photon7p on December 26, 2012) | ||

That could very well be your exhaust valve changing Photon. | ||

I had a similar problem with my 08 Uly last summer. I had a chaffed wire to next to the oil cooler that was grounding on one of the engine cooling fins and cutting ignition power momentarily. Then it would come alive again, the needles would sweep, exhaust valve meow, and so on. The previous guys are probably right. I bet you are having a voltage/power problem somewhere be it a bad ground, chaffed/broken wire, etc. | ||

1. Short is wiring harness somewhere. Under the seat and where the CPS sensor wires route under the lower faring cover are popular. 2. corrosion on wiring harness pins. Invisible to naked eye. clean them all with an emery board. 3. Clogged fuel injector. Mine was the rear. Pulled it and soaked in cleaner while using plastic tubing to blow air through while hooked to 12v wall wart and momentary contact switch to cycle injector open and closed. |
