I could toss something together in Maryland if people want. Off-the-cuff stuff...4 acres to camp on...garage space to park in...some nice roads but definitely a "lets see where *this* goes" arrangement given my work schedule between now and then... Oh. And tools if needed. Nice whisky if desired. A front porch in MD with views of a valley in PA. And a couple of cute, snoring mutts who love everyone Hope all is going as well as possible for Mike. |

That sounds great. Have crossed into Maryland to the Union Hotel a few times, great scenery, and carved beef sandwiches. Good day trip from PA. I'm interested! Yeah, hope Mike is doing okay. |

so when is the alternate trip taking place? you are close enough that I could head out to Harpers for lunch or something, but I just could not do the other longer ride with everything going on in my life right now.. |

Could do same weekend as the original, if folks already have time off... Should be a mapquest page for my location: http://www.mapquest.com/#f5d57fef14aa126b423e5e30 Rest assured, this is completely off-the-cuff for me. More like "oh, hey...some riding people showed up, let's go for a ride somewhere". If I know how many people are coming, I can make sure food is in the fridge...or I can go to the grocery store once we have a head count in person. I'm easygoing (some say disorganized)...but we can make it work |

Ratbuell, don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I'm am a professional chef.... can anyone say BBQ? and by the sounds of it my buell is nearly ready to come back to life, so some MD scenery may be in order. |

OK, here's what I have in MD: 4 bedrooms, 3 baths. All baths functional with showers. Have to inventory, but I do have some extra towels and stuff. 1 bedroom has 2 twin beds. 2 bedrooms are empty (got divorced, lost half my furniture...bought a bigger house. DOH). 2 person dome tent and 2 or 3 sleeping bags. Living room with sofa and three recliners. COMFY recliners. 4 acres. Clear. Camp-able. And nice neighbors. Room to park tow vehicles. Bank-barn style garage - 6 car on the bottom, 40x40 workshop up top. Bike lift. Compressor. Common spares (gaskets, fluids, etc). Some larger spares (calipers, rotors, turn signals, exhausts). Only big tool I don't have is a tire machine. Friend of mine just stopped working at HD shop, I have his Matco set "in storage" HD shop close by who doesn't look at me like I have 3 heads if I ask for Buell parts, and will actually locate them if nearby. Metric shop about 20 minutes away who stocks most tires and has a very reasonable off-bike mount/balance rate ($25). Diesel pickup with 8' bed, ramps, and tie-downs if one doesn't make it home from a ride. Bikes can sleep indoors. Full band PA system if we have musicians (my side job - 24 channel desk, full EQ/processing, and 4000 watts of power - only missing mics for drums since all the drummers I work with BYO). 2 burner LP infrared grille. Covered patio. Full kitchen. Good roads. Good singlemalt whisky for after-rides. Beer store a mile away. Grocery and gas 5 min out. Black and white something-or-other one-eyed-dog that I rescued and I love. Fawn pug who loves everyone. About 1/2 acre fenced for the dogs (including a doghouse) - definitely dog friendly if folks want to bring fur-buddies. If people want to come out...organized or not... I have the weekend blocked off from work already. Just let me know so I can tidy up a bit and make sure there's enough food (beer?) for everyone. |

I couldn't do the originally scheduled event as I could only get the weekend off so I had to bail on the get together...to make it up to myself I rounded up a few buds for a very simple out and back trip from my place down to Roanoke and back all on the back-roads and now kind of committed to my two day trip that I'm calling my bachelor party get away...but THIS sounds like a lot of easy local fun!.....what days are you looking at? just Saturday and sunday or overnight Friday night guests as well? now I am thinking of changing my plans to Friday night in your neck of the woods, get to know some other "local" Buelligans" then depart for skyline and blue-ridge run to Roanoke Saturday morning since its already planned.... one of my buddies that is in for the two day trip is developing quite a passion for my S3t, I'm sure mixing him in with a few others even over night for a show and tell and a few beers would push him right off the edge of the cliff!... anyway, what days are you considering opening the "ranch"? |

Well if only one person is coming we can sit and have drinks after I get off work. If more people want to come, post up. I can try and reclaim my day off Friday... |

Ratbuell, PM sent, trying to sort my weekend and see if I can make changes. I originally had to bow out of the big gathering because I only had two days that I could put towards a ride and if I was going to do the full gathering I just couldn't make it happen in two days. So I'm going to do a quick run to Roanoke on either back roads or skyline and blue ridge..., but would be interested in trying to fit in getting out to your place, meet a few fellow buelligans and check out your collection....and maybe use that as a starting run...I have at least one buddy going with me though and not sure how solid our plans are right now... |

no PM...but yahoo has been acting up. Again. So far...you're the only one who's expressed an interest. And I just booked a show Friday night (I do sound as a side job) on top of working my day job Friday. So...Friday night is out, but the weekend is open (and any weekend you want to come up for a ride - got some good roads up this way!). |

understand, enjoy the gig!...heading to Roanoke on back roads, leaving sat 0900 south on 301 across the nice bridge and into the back roads, connect to blue-ridge parkway crossing on 56 then south to Roanoke for the night, then turnaround and find a different way home. all issues resolved on S3T...push rod tube leak and yesterdays speedo sensor fail..bike is ready to go. |

had a fantastic ride, left the house, south on 301 hit 17 west and the twisties began, picked our way across to 56 west even twistier, then to BR PKWY down to Roanoke, had a great Mexican dinner and a few fish bowl margarittas...then get up and reverse route home. I have found my favorite 2 day ride!! missed every city and all roads two lane winding thorugh the country side! bike behaved perfectly! |

Oh yeah, it snows. And where I am...it blows after it snows, so there's drifts. I'm at 1600'; work is at 400'. They thought I was full of it when I said "I can't come in until later, I need to clear my drive". They had 3" at work. I had 29" drifts across my drive. Some spots were bare pavement...some definitely were not bare. Snowblower with heated grips, a POS $400 jeep for when the roads are really bad, and good whisky |
