When we bought American Sport Bike at the beginning of 2004, Tat Marcy's pristine 1995 S2 was included in the deal. It has been registered non-op here in Cali ever since, and has been sitting unappreciated over in the corner since. I need the space more than I need the bike, and it's a shame to have this thing collecting dust instead of being appreciated by someone on the road, so it's time to sell it. 6701 original miles. It is #46 of 86 california S2's, and I have the signature Timing cover plate for it. It's a 9.5 out of 10. The paint is good, but a couple small bubbles and a few spider web cracks in the paint keep it from being a 10. You'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner S2 anywhere. Some pictures:
I just put a new battery in it and went through the carb expecting it to be clogged, but it was pristine. I'll be starting it tomorrow for the first time in 9 years, but don't expect any issues. I'll change the oil after it's run. The tires are in great shape, but as old as they are, they should really be replaced. I have never ridden the bike, so I can only give all the info that Tat gave me on the bike when we got it. Stainless Steel Rear Brake Line Billet Foot Pegs, 2 pr. Put new battery in, put in new fuel, cranked it about 10 revs and she started right up, purred like a kitten. After 9 years of sitting, I'm impressed. It carburetes well, and the Micron muffler on this thing sounds REALLY nice. I just need to re-install the air cleaner and it'll be ready to go. Roy (Dutch) gets first dibs at it, but whoever ends up getting it is going to be a happy camper. I drug the box of OEM stuff off the shelf and confirmed that all the OEM stuff is there...seat, OEM headers (silver ceramic coated, muffler, original headlight, quicksilver carburetor (Cali models didn't come with a CV), ignition module, air cleaner, CF fender, belt guard, handlebars, etc are all in the box. I have NOT ridden the bike. If I'd planned on keeping it, I'd definitely change the shock and tires, and I'd probably put one of the nice http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/6184.html air cleaner back plates on it, as the one that is on there isn't anywhere near as nice. It has one of the updated rotors on it, but it is the pre-2000 updated rotor. So I'd change the front rotor as well. This one will work fine, but will eventually turn rattley like all the pre-2000 rotors did, |

If memory serves, I remember that bike from our first Colorado trip back in 01. It was gorgeous then and still is. |

It is still in the process of being sold to Dutch_X1, but we're still working out the details since he is having it shipped to the Netherlands. But there's a few folks in line after him if the deal falls through for whatever reason. Al |

Al, put my name on the list (if it hasn't already gone). My S2 (that was totaled by a friend) was the same Red Snap, white frame, with white marchesini rims. This just brought back a ton of memories, and I'm itching to get an S2 back in my stable. The XB12R will be going... |
