I'm not sure... We'll be finding out. There is a wholesale distributorship in the US. But, I'm not sure what all they keep in stock. What they don't have will come from Italy. That could take some time. They said we could get everything overnighted if we wanted... That could get pricey. What did you want to get?

Almost 24 hours with no posts...?

I went for a ride to the mountains yesterday with a guy Mike Lazear. He bought an XB12S not too long ago. We were having a good time but, I was having some trouble shifting. I know I;ve mentioned that 3rd was getting stiff before my 10K service. I had hoped the service was my remedy... It was not. As we twisted our way through the mountains my shifting grew worse and worse until finally the tranny seemed to lock up on me. No shifting at all. I coasted to a stop, put the side stand down, messed with the shifter by hand, and an El Camino came by. Paying only a bit of attention I saw the break lights come on and feared I would have to put up with Mountain Blathering about how "I used to have a motorcycle...." I pushed the bike across the street to turn around and try to get the bike in gear as I rolled down a hill. Then I broke my linkage as the El Camino pulled up behind me. "I pulled over 'cause I used to have a motorcycle." He offers to take me to cleveland where I may be able to get a pair of vise grips to try out as a shifter arm and limp home with. As i saddle up on his wheel well and he heads for the door, I synapse fires in the memory portion of my brain and I recognize the guy. I confronted him with the recognition and he dismisses it as an error in my mind. As we ride the 35 miles to the closed hardware store in Cleveland, I feel confident I know this guy from somewhere. We arrive at the True Value and when he leaned out of the door I was certain. I confronted him again to find out we were in the same band class from 6th through the beginning of 9th grades. He gave me a ride back to Atlanta!

How crazy is that? I have not seen the guy since 1986!
serendipity.

Wow, I can barely remember '86!
I always like seeing people (well most people) from the past.
Do we know what went wrong with the Urban Assault Weapon's gear box yet? I hope it ain't serious. Wonder if it could be the detent spring, or the tension boot. Let us know.
I rode around locally Saturday and did yard work.
Sunday Shred and I rode around, he showed me his knee down technique. Had fun doin' wheelies and generally acting like a couple of hooligans. Stopped at a BBQ place on 78 to get dinner and ran into the cute girl that works in parts at SMHD. I'm terrible with names, so please forgive me. All in all a quiet weekend, except for my air box, it's kinda loud now. I've drilled it, louder, and much better throttle response, took care of most of the torque dip. I'm going to insulate the bottom also to try to keep some of the engine heat out of the air box.
I've also tried to find that dang ol' Edelbrock muffler, the closet thing I could find was a Flow Master, and there was no cost saving there.

Since Savannah is going to be rained on for the next week I hit the mountains Sunday on the R1100s. Coincidentally hooked up with a friend on a BoxerCup replica at Toosies. I didn't get to do much beyond hang out at TWO as I started having a problem with my S' final drive. I hit a massive rock on Moreland doing 40 two weeks ago and its started acting up. So I chilled at TWO for the afternoon, and then took it easy cruising home. Glad I didn't hit the Parkway as planned as limping home for 400 miles is not a concept I relish.

So hows this for funny, after worrying about the belt drive on the Buells I'm now having trouble with my Beemer. LOL.

LOL Glitch, I haven't opened the final drive yet, and while the belt looks good my shaft drive, while a little wonky, still let me ride home.

PS. I met a guy at TWO who just picked up a left over 03 9S from Alabama; an amazing deal apparently. Because of this board I was able to tell him to get the plastic oil line separator clip. I also told him to check out this board and since he lives in Douglasville to deal with Pete's shop.

That's the main thing.
Still trying to find some sort of roll up spare.
There's a market for someone.
I'll check it out when i get home
What we need is the Edelbrock number, should be stamped on the muffler itself. Maybe able to see it looking under the bike?

Glitch, another difference is that this occurred after something very noticeable (namely hitting a big rock) and its easy to check for (lateral play when you jiggle the rear wheel).

I didn't think baker came out with a tranny for the xb yet?...I asked about it at the V-Twin Expo this year...

I looked...no number...And i really wouldn't attempt it...because i was going to...talked to a bunch if folks...and the way the muffler is designed ...i has to line up PERFECT for it to work...if not..it will crack your header pipe...really..one look at mine and you'll see what i'm talking about...I am also a "Budget-Bird"...and wanted to do it myself. Talked myself out of it. Some things are just better to leave up to the pro's.
But..if you want to try it...i'm a pretty good fabricator i beleive...i have a Mig and Tig at the house..

Glitch- are you just ignoring my question or do you secretly praise Bob and just don't want anyone to know??

The church of the subgenious isn't something to be taken lightly ya know.
I used to hand out their doctrine to the Johovah's (sp?) witnesses that came to my house and for some reason they wouldn't come back.
