There's a hex screw at the bottom of the fork leg that holds the damper assembly to the bottom slider leg. It has a copper 'crush' washer under (over) it. I was able to get the 6mm hex screw out no problem, but I can't get the copper washer!
Can't find anything to grab, it seems too squeezed in to inertia pound it out.

How have you guys removed the crush washer???
Thanks...

Maybe a small screwdriver or chisel between the washer and fork and leverage it out???

I've gotten them out by using a rod from the top. Either that or like Oberon said, leave it in and use a 2nd on top of it.

Thanks for the feedback. Got it out with a rubber mallet and 2x4.
Held the slider leg in my hand, with the washer/axle side down, about 2 inches above the 2x4. Hit the top of the leg hard with the rubber mallet. The fork slider is driven down for a couple of inches, then abruptly stopped by the 2x4. Had to do it 5 or 6 times. Then the washer was jostled loose enough to get it with the tip of a little bent pick. So an 'inertia stopper' was combined with the 'inertia accelerator'.
Thanks guys.

I had the same problem with one of mine, could not get it out even with a pick behind it firmly. So a bit of permatex around the screw and let him stay there with just the dab of sealant for grins.
