So I was having difficulty with the idle. After taking the carb off and gas tank off I found the little screw (pictured) fell off the idle/cable assembly that mounts to the carb. The tip of the screw was not lining up with the stop (actually going past it) Found a replacement bolt, easy fix. Only wish it wasn't so difficult to remove the carb! Cleaned the clogged mid jet. I do not like the cable attachment that goes to the idle adjustment screw. Can I use the shorty solid type in picture? I also want to convert to the pilot jet screw type that you can turn with your fingers. While I have gas tank and carb off I need to finally get to repairing the slow leak in my rear rocker gasket. How easy is it to convert to the XB style covers? Changing to XB covers is easy...get the parts and gaskets and it bolts right up. run lines from the PCV outlets to either a catch can or filter. You can close off the breathers on the side of the heads with regular bolts. |
