Just recently bought a 99 buell lighting man tells me the stater bad is there a way to check it? |

Yes, there is a round plastic 2 position socket that comes off of the voltage regulator. With the bike running, measure AC voltage across the terminals on the engine side. It should be putting out around 15-20 volts ac per 1,000 rpm. |

So put a new stater in this after noon, check engine light went off but half way home light came on well soon after that it died according to service manual tells me a good stater should have no continuity well now it does so my ? is is there something i missed or possibly something else could of made it bad any suggestions would greatly appreciated |

Pin to pin should be very low (5 ohms or less). Pin to ground should be infinity. |
