Anyone else planning on being at Bubs in about 3 weeks? Team NRHS will be there with 2 bikes again this year. Hoping for 165+ with the naked gas 1350cc bike and 175" with the fully faired fuel 1350cc bike. Hope to see some of you there. |

No trip west this year for me. The S&S crew will be there supporting a few racers though. Good Luck |

Jeff, I tried to get some support from S&S this year but it seems they were not interested. I must say I was pretty disappointed since our little 1350cc naked gas bike, with a girl riding it, was faster than several of the S&S supported riders with much bigger bikes last year. I wasn't even asking for money just some assistance with some new S&S parts I wanted to try this year on the bike. (Message edited by buelliedan on August 08, 2013) |

Not exactly a Buell but it has a Buell engine in it: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak- ash3/1116125_10151644907882535_2069013316_o.jpg |

Dan which bike has the potential less frontal area a solid mount sportster or a tube frame buell? I figure that is what the Buell motor came out of. Or is that what the fairing was made for? Good luck at Bubs wish I was going. |

the sportster is much easier to get lower to the ground so that is why we use a sportster frame. |

Dan, I am not sure who you asked, but I would have tried to help you out. No question you know how to make your stuff run. You have way more experience than some of the people who were out there last year. After last year's appearance of S&S out there, we were flooded with requests for sponsorship for Bonneville. I think the standard answer became "no" because so many were asking. We really don't have a process to go through to ask for sponsorship. In reality, most of the people didn't really get that much from us. I personally didn't like that my bike looked like the company back S&S bike. I tried to keep the effort mine and not the company's, but in the end got sucked into the overall deal. Good luck and go fast. |

Jeff, I was directed by Torger to talk with some lady in the marketing dept. Sent several e-mails and left several voice mails and never even got a response back from anybody. Must say if left a pretty bad taste in my mouth that they wouldn't even return my call. |

Well, Dan Cil, Bubba, Brian and the rest are at the Salts. I'm at home tending the shop. Either Dan or I will update this thread as news comes in. Good speed racers! Zack |

OK... first update Both Cil and Bubba had some issues yesterday. Cil's bike experienced bad reversion at 5200 rpm, she just has to shift later... motor is STRONG everywhere else. Too bad we can't make 150 mph wind sitting on the dyno.. Bubba had some kind of trouble with his forks that got fixed. no more intel here. Cil, however managed a run of 163+ but tires are spinning on the salt. Cil says fishtailing at 150mph has a high "pucker factor". Couldn't reach that speed on the return run. no record yet. More as I get it. Z |

Zac, can you tell us more about Cil's bike? is it an XB frame by chance? |

No on the XB, Sportster frames get closer to the ground... It is a Buell motor, heavily massaged. Just got this from Dan, Cil's first run today was 164.. Second run was 170!!!!!! We stomped the record of 163..... Z |

congratulations. It was a great event. Good to see old friends there. Quite a few Buells. congratulations Dan. it looked FAST. there was a sleeved down blast there, down to a 250. Looked good. set a record I think. A cool RR XB road racer there. Loud, was shooting for 200 mph. might have made it,if the weather had held out... you need to be at bonneville. great event |

Best part of the meet for me was when Rex was announcing and my wife Cil ran her 164.4 mph pass. Not sure if Rex even realized it but he says over the radio "is this right?" That had me laughing so hard. I told Cil about it and I think that is what made her do the 170.658 for her back up pass just to show him it was correct. hehe (Message edited by buelliedan on September 03, 2013) |
