on my 1999 x1 i am noticing oil on the bottom of the engine and it looks like it is coming from the pulley area... could it be the oil seal behind the pulley or maybe the nuetral switch? what do you guys think? |

Could be, only one way to know for sure, take the pulley cover off. |

Check the oil hoses, too. Sometimes they rub the engine enough to leak. Wash the area well, lay a folded newspaper between the hoses and the motor, go for a short ride, and see which side of the paper is wet with oil. |

Changed the pulley seal and checked the nuetral switch... went for a ride and still have a leak... from the rear cylinder rear pushrod base!!! Pulled the read rocker box and seals looked good... I think the pusheod tube has a small dent on the lower end and it is not letting the base gasket seal make a good seal... anybody care to chime in? |
